Yay! The video we've all been waiting for! Maybe you could do a "Part II" of this and interview the owner? Here are some questions you might use: 1. What have you done re restoration since you've owned it? 2. How hard is it to put the top up? 3. Does it have side windows? 4. Was the Jeepster available with four wheel drive as an option? 5. Was the 4 banger the only engine option? 6, Can tou fit a set of golf clubs in the trunk? 7.Does it have a name? 8. Why are the two halves of the (continued)
@HeyRadialMoon Front seat different sizes? 9, Why no seat belts? (I know the answer to this, but others might be interested) 10. Since there is no radio, do you have a happy jeepstering song that you like to sing while driving it? 11. Is there anything on the car that isn't original or a faithful reproduction of an original part? 12.Was it always yellow? That's about it. Thanks for the ride Chuck! :)
@HeyRadialMoon 9, There are seat belts front and rear. You can hear the click as I buckle mine. In a crash the doors will probably pop open. The belts hopefully will keep the occupants in the vehicle. 10, "Look at me look at me now. It's fun to have fun but you have to know how". 11, The seat belts. 12, I think it was always yellow. YAY! I did it.
@HeyRadialMoon OK, I'm rested.1, I bought it it pretty much in this condition. I did patch some rust but mostly I've been doing mechanical stuff as needed. 2, The top is a bitch to erect. It goes up in December and comes down in April. 3, There are side curtains which are also not fun to put in. I don't enjoy driving with the top up and curtains in. 4, Only rear wheel drive. 5, There's also a 6 banger. 6, I think you might be able to fit a set of golf clubs in the trunk.
@georgiahoosier My Jeepster has always been a usable antique. It doesn't sport antique plates and it can do chores. Last week, Veteran's Day, Fort Benning came to mind. Hello Georgia!
@2stroketurbo Yes, it's all stock. It's a 2008 Prius, not a Leaf. I don't even think you can buy a Leaf in the midwest yet. The camera work was influenced by a Messerschmitt video I once viewed.
@RideswithChuck ......... I noticed the fine Messerschmitt influnenced camera angles. Your mount seems good and solid but not bouncy, perfect!. What a fun ride, I could almost feel the wind in my hair. haha. Nice Fall colors too. Nissan Leafs are everywhere here in clean and green Portland now. They're commonly being used as fleet vehicles. Charging stations are cropping up like weeds. Solar charging stations in our neighborhood are the rage....
@RideswithChuck .....Do you have the Delkin Fat Gecko suction cup camera mount? It's the bomb! holds a camera steady up to 8 lbs. As a bonus, you can pull dents from your quarter panel the suction is so strong.
Awesome vehicle sir! Lucky you getting to drive one of those!

@Busia1949 I had it tuned up by a friend of mine and it came back sounding like that. It isn't a glass pack.

@RideswithChuck Well it sounds really nice and goes smoothly. I have had experience with the old 6cyl Jeeps, but not the 4 cylinders.

@2stroketurbo My camera mount was very bouncy. There were a very few seconds that were usable. I think you saw them all.

Don't some people consider the Willies Overland Jeepster the first American Sports Car?
talfacprez 3 months ago
@talfacprez There is some influence from European roadsters from that era but it really does handle like a truck,
