"Most Wanted" and "Real World" played a major role for me as a German kid who was trying to get a grip on the English language. Maybe that's why my generation is called by some the "MTV Generation". Today, of course, that would be unthinkable. TV is dead and MTV's deterioration helped to kill it, IMO.

This is when MTV was good. What was the point of regionalising MTV when all they do is show American reality shows? It makes no sense. I know Ray is doing shows in Belgium now but he should return to the UK and make TV out here. I'm surprised he hasn't done so already.

This was before MTV had the hare-brained idea to split MTV up into regional channels, destroying the sense of European youth unity and depriving us Scandinavians of the best source of authentic English programming we had. Not enough expletives available to tell them what I think of that imbecilic idea. Anyway, thank you Ray for the laughs.

@meadish Agreed. I stopped watching shortly after MTV split up. MTV UK was nowhere near as good. It didn't just bring a bit of British culture and lanuage to Europe, It brought a bit of mainland European culture to the UK. It should have never worked but it did and it was brilliant. When it became MTV UK, it felt like you were watching marketing and not entertaining TV, and it was around then that they started playing less music and more shite.

I sometimes wonder whether it's just me getting older, but not in this case.

MTV, Bravo, Sci-Fi etc were all miles better back then!

MTV in the 90's was brilliant! Imaginative and fun.

I loved the animated bumpers/channel ads, the presenters, the shows, the music.. pretty much everything.

I know the internet hasn't helped, but surely TV has more to offer nowadays!?

This show was blinkin awesome and so so funny. At the time, SKY was considered a luxury so I used to watch it at my mates house. I'm all grown up now with kids and during a 5 minute moment of peace and remeniscence I had a flashback about this fella / programme. Through the power of You tube a scratching of the head and a search engine I found him.

It's Ray's fault that I learned English at the age of 8! We got MTV on TV at that time and my big sister always used to watch Most wanted. I couldn't understand one word, so I watched it over and over again, until I knew what he was talking about ^^ Thanks to MTV's Ray for great Music Television moments XD

The problem was that for 2 hours straight MTV aired a show called TEEN MOM,

Oh how I LOVED this show! I was addicted to it and I adored the crew and Ray! I miss the sillyness and the sexual innuendoes! I still have a few episodes on tape and I will NEVER throw them away! Also, I loved getting up to the most wanted moments from the entire week every Saturday. Great to start the day with laughter! This was genuine, real and funny! No one was snobby, everyone laughed and they clearly loved their job. The optimism was contagious. I miss this so much...

I watched this show when I lived in Germany back in 1995. It later turned into TFI Friday presented by Chris Evans for Channel 4. Exactly the same production team, just different presenter.
