She does NOT go off pitch at around 40....she is singing minor key notes perfectly on key.

Right around .40, she goes off pitch, but the rest is wonderful!

I think that perhaps the root of the problem is that it was sung in english. English recordings of any german operas' are never good - Even italian and french opera's for that matter. Though you must admit that she did sound lovely - Accurate colouratura as always, lovely tone. And also its all about interprettation to, and if her interprettation wasn't as good as say, Gruberova or andersons, then so be it.

Well... Ok, is not my first choice of Queen of Night either. But Andersons version is a studio recorded one. This is a one take TV performance. In those days very stressfull for singers. Camera´s just make you so self aware, the last thing you can use...especially singing a piece that is just a make or break experience. You just can´t fake your way out of the Queen of Night. There is just no way to repair an intonation slip or something. I think she did a wonderfull performance.
