  • One of my top fave band ! Thanks for the vid, I knew and loved the song, but didn't know the vid.

  • Love this!!!!

Thought i was the only person in the world who even knew of this band!

    thanks for posting!

  • Who needs religion when you have Martyn's voice? ethereal beauty of the highest order > so short that you are left yearning further like another dose of nicotine after the miserable fag..

  • What a great song.

With invisibility the best song of Eyeless in gaza.

  • one of the greatest.............thanx for beeing there since i'm 12 .right now i'm 42.

my birthday today......and if i had a wish for free.........."EYELESS IN GAZA" in concert.the best birthday present ever................

  • Very 80s - sort of Dexy's Midnight smiths, Too much drums and horrible horns. They need something - like guitars or something

  • @sandprof go watch big brother and quit critics for eyeless in gaza

  • Sublime music!

  • AAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Are those words or jibberish hes singing?

  • No tengo ni puta idea de lo que dicen, pero la musica que hacian, o hacen pero sobre todo la que hacian me sigue llegando como musica y me hace sentir muy bien.

  • @TheFelixtrivi

Uno de los mejores de los 80...

  • you make the baby huxley cry

  • Never forgot that song...thanx for posting

  • That commenter is obviously an idiot. They're screenname is based around Lady Gaga, one of the biggest ripoff artists the world has ever known. People think she's original, but she's just Terri Bozzio, Nina Hagen, and Lene Lovich in a modern package. And not half as good as either three.

  • Not to be nit-picky =) but I think you mean Dale Bozzio, not Terry Bozzio, since Terry was the dude (drummer) for Missing Persons, and Dale, the singer, was his wife at the time.

But I agree with what you said about Lady Gaga for sure. And I of course love Eyeless in Gaza as my previous comments will attest.

  • @NewWaver80014 Yeah, I don't know why I said that...haha.

  • No problem. =) With those androgynous names, it was easy to get them mixed up.

  • Oh God Such a long time ago...

    Thanx for this

  • Muy bueno jodeeerrr!!!!! ;-D

  • great! awesome! underrated band. thanks for this video.

  • gee...I do apologize for not meeting your high expectations. try byonce

  • You know shit about fuck. Eyeless are a classic. Try Abba, buttwipe!!

  • Increíble , cuantos años . 5 estrellas y directamente a favoritos. En parte entraron de lleno en los estilos post-industriales , mezclando perfectamente los sonidos de aquella época.

Traslado un comentario del Wikipedia que pienso definen en cierta forma ésta excelente banda.

"""I feel that people dont pay enough attention to the spiritual side of their life; it is a very interesting side of the human psychism and it fascinates me."""

Muchísimas gracias por colgar el video.

    Saludos

  • their entire catalog is brilliant

  • keep all your rubbish bands of the eighties......

this was and still is the genius of the time.....

duran duran eat your heart out........

  • Possibly the second best song on Drumming after the awesome Picture the Day. Regardless, this is a fantastic effort - shame it was so short.

  • @bobbydj01

I agree. This song leaves you wanting more!

  • @bobbydj01

    What about One by One???

  • @aureliocarrillo

    A fantastic track - third best! ;-)

  • SONIC JOY------Nuff said

  • I still got that album on vinyl... their most intimist, deep, personal and original... a great masterpiece.

  • one of the best bands everrrrrrrrrrr

  • His voice! My god, it's like this unrestrained beauty! Rough but delicately so. Love, love, love it!

  • what have i been missing.... Martyn is amazingly talented and yet so modest! love the music! Nuneaton's finest indeed!

  • is there any footage of 'throw a shadow' that can be uploaded here? it would *make* youtube!

  • That's my favorite as well. I had a spiritual experience involving this song and this band. I only have a compilation with their songs and one album, it's amazing.

  • Nearly as awesome as Picture the Day.

  • Yesssss ! Good choice. I've seen them twice, two.. astonishing performance.. and these guys were working beside their music trip. Definitively part of the indie/cold wave spirit of the 80's. Thnks.

  • hi, orphicsonnet- i love all of rust red, whenever i put it in my cd player, it has to live there for about 3 weeks at a time! it's so beautiful, the lyrics read like poetry. I wish more people could appreciate them... does that make us special?! haha

  • Yes. Rust Red September was and still is a personal favorite of mine. I listen to it so much in the eigthies. "Rust red" and "Drumming the Beating Heart". In the similar vein, I could put "Another Setting", "Architecture & Morality", "Polar Exposure". greetings from lisbon.

  • Nuneaton's finest. Just ordered the "Saw You in Reminding Pictures" DVD - can't wait!

Martyn and Peter are truly unsung heroes of 1980s pop. EIG were/are so atmospheric, and evocative. "Drumming the Beating Heart" is particularly haunting and powerful.

  • I've seen them twice. So peculiar, unchallenged. Thank you very much for this post.

  • great song and band, thank you for posting

  • I was on a concert in berlin 20 years ago - it was fantastic

thanks for reminding me to look for my old records

  • i saw that band and song 1 meter behind me , i was twenty and loved them

that song is really a great moment, really really

  • what an amazing thing, eyeless in gaza! thanks for posting an old favorite!

  • GREAT GREAT MUSIC from a GREAT GREAT BAND! This minimalistic sound is timeless and unbeatable!

    //Robert

  • What a lovely song! One of my all time favorites from a seemingly forgotton gendre (at least in the states). Still fire up my Eyeless in Gaza, Monochrome Set and Durutti Column disks...

  • hi , i've too finded as u durutti column with "you tube" , an other great moment

  • FANTASTIC. What a joy to see Eyeless. I've loved this band from the start but very few know who they were.
