I put my prom tux on to to this song back in1984. Jammed it out while I put on my cupebuckl...cumperlickl....cumperbandle......THAT THING THAT GOES AROUND YOUR WAIST !!!!! Best Motorhead song ever !!!!!!
Another perfect day est certainement l'un de mes albums préférés de motorhead : La rencontre improbable de lemmy et de Robbo a été certes de courte durée mais quel son !!! Que de souvenirs sur Shine et Back on a funny farm
Yeah I'm inclined to call this the best Motorhead record. But then I think - 'No wait... The Ace of Spades! No wait... Hammersmith! No wait... Iron Fist! No wait... Orgasmatron! No wait.... etc.etc.
By far the best Motorhead guitarist. He brought out the best in the band and made them more musically intricate. Don't get me wrong, I love all the other M.H guitarists especially Eddie and Wurzel.
There is a long stroy here. Robbo was the best Motorhead guiatarist by a mile. Yet he's an R&B influenced player not R&R like Fast Eddie. Fuck I hope Motorheads March 2011 gig in Melbourne falls outside've my swing with work...more of the younger generation should checkout this band, they kick the living shit outt've the faggot crap that's getting bandied around as rock'n'roll these days...This song blows me away!
Prolly the best song off this album..one rock journalist said he saw Lemmy bust all FOUR strings on his Rickenbacker bass on the opening chord to "Ace of spades" live..is that even possible??
@MrStraight6 thats right a matter of taste ,and its a good thing that there are lots of diffrent tastes ,because it would be extremely boring if we all would listen to the same music, and i like the original line up was really cool, but i think i like the newest formation with mikkey, phil campbell and lemmy more ,power drummer, great guitarist and then lemmy ,to me thats just perfect ,but again thats a matter of taste \m/
I'm glad to find that there are other people who think this album is terrific. While not a favourite of Motorhead fans who considered it a deviation from the band's previous sound, this album contained some excellent melodies, guitar playing and some damn fine songwriting, in general. It proved that Motorhead was capable of thinking and playing out of the box.
so good to hear likeminded people. Motorhead with Robbo? simply fucking awesome!!! Just a pity the guy threw it all away: Motorhead could have been the greatest rock and roll band of all time..
One of the best Motorhead albums for sure! Too bad the guitar solo on this promo video is edited & shortened -- listen to the album version and you'll see what I mean. Also, the video fades out, while the studio track has that great, crashing ending, with Lemmy screaming "... and I got miiiine!" Guess they had to trim the song to make it more "video friendly".
In my opinion Robertson was the best guitarist Motorhead ever had. Another Perfect Day was probably their best album. It's my opinion. Shame Robbo kinda went really crap. Lizzy, Motorhead, what a CV.
@MrMegabreath Robertson nearly kill motorhead, and this album that it's perfect (because of lemmy) take away some rudeness that was the sign of motorhead.
@coscoso As you know, Robertson replaced Clarke on the US tour. He came into a band his style didn't particually fit and Motorhead finished their tour in good shape. Then Another Perfect Day was released. Die You Bastard, Dancing on Your Grave, Shine, One Track Mind, Rock It, Back at the Funny Farm etc. Robbo's guitar stands out and is fantastic You find one crap track on that album. Remember, Motorhead play tracks from that album nowadays live (even though Campbell is no Robbo).
@MrMegabreath Fast Eddy Clark is my hero. It's not so much the skill, it's more the style that does it for me. But why have a discussion, we both love Motorhead don't we? Who cares who plays the guitar, as long as it's Lemmy on bass...
@barnymartin Still to this day I think this is the best Motorhead album. I first got into them with the Overkill album (Yeah I'm in my 40's You maybe older than me, idk) then Bomber (Which I like more than Ace Of Spades). The only album I didn't really like much was "March or Die". Motorhead always deliver as you know. It's my opinion as I said in my post. As for the "Later" albums Inferno hit's the spot.
@ryder77rex First time I saw them I was 19 @ Hammy. That's another great thing about them is that there is "No age" It's not fashion for an age group it's just good Rock that appeals to an audience irrelivent of age.
this could be in the list of Motörhead-Top-5-songs of all time. Wonderful guitar intro. And the the bass rolls in at 0:20. The growling voice "here's the story..." Fine lyrics. "refuse disposal refugee" Great, what can one say? in this 83 video Lemmy IS a rock and roll preacher - head up to the mic, and rickenbacker thunder. He was and is the coolest m...er in the universe. Robbo never fitted to the rest, anyway. A great guitar man.

another perfect record, surely their best. if you like it get Live at king biscuit, or Manchester apollo- another perfect day tour, all of them bootlegs, must be the best motorhead ever
Good song, ok album once you get into it. Have to say i prefer Phil's playing live on this track but its alright. Just not a fan of that awkward major chord at 0:09
The album is awsome and Brian is gr8 just he was up his own ass, he throught he was Brian Robestson Super guest thats why they got rid of him plus he was torture to record with says Lem
Isn't this from one of the first Mtv Saturday night concert series in 1983? Iron Maiden live at the Rainbow '81 was the 2nd one followed by Micheal Jackson's Moonwalker concert. Actually I think this Motorhead was a mini concert.
Yeah I like a lot of stuff off Another Perfect Day. I have a Motorhead Greatest Hits cd that has most material from that. "I Got Mine" is one of my favorite tracks.
Brutal Brutal, Simply Brutal. One of my favourites song from Motorhead. That kind of track which will always makes you remember someone. And who is this guitarist ? first time I see him. He seems the Stranglers bassist indeed, that guy, hehe. Not bad, really. Whatever, Man, that burns !!!!!!!!!

@mrfaeces Ahaha, true! And ballet shoes on stage! Doesn't match with Motörhead's style! But he was a brillant guitarist, really. He speeded up MH & brought up excellent solos.
@mrfaeces man hes more than an alright guitar player hes the master of wah ya he was a bit of a douche but a amazingly underrated guitar player just like thin lizzy is an amazingly underrated band!

I inevitably play this record for people who claim Motörhead 'play the same song over and over'... such an underrated and versatile band. I mean, this is more or less a Prog Rock / Blues record, and they somehow pull it off with the Motörhead style.
what tha fuck? Robbo rules, hes the best front guitar motorhead ever had, and another perfect day its a master piece of hard rock, thanks, in a great deal, to Robbo.
One of their best songs. Another perfect day is the secret diamond in their discography. shine and i got mine are their most soft and melodic tunes and if it wasn't for lemmy's voice people would think them as aor or ballads. i can't believe how amazing are motorhead at every kind of rock, metal, rock n roll, blues, ballads.
PLEASE, PLEASE, somebody post "Another Perfect Day" it might not be a typical Motorhead song but its a GREAT track. I also love this album. Its hard-edged rock but with some awsome melodies in the mix.
So much heart and soul in this band, after Robertson and Clarke the band did not have the same energy--Lemmy always carries the day, but the guitar players mattered so much.
The Motorhead/Robertson album is a gem. There are so many songs on that album that deserve greater attention from Motorhead fans. Ass-kicking album from beginning to end. Personally, I find this to be one of my most favorite albums of all time (in this short life)--see my other posts for what this counts for. Not kidding, "Another Perfect Day" is a killer album.
Someone please post an audio of "Another Perfect Day" -- don't care about video, please post the music. I am scheduled to take a vacation to Hell in two weeks, I need that song. Thank you.
My fave Motorhead album is "Another Perfect Day" with Brian Robertson. Some amazing songs on that album, one in particular, "Rock It" and "Another Perfect Day". Excellent album.
"I Got Mine"the only way Lemmy would ever get his,
is if a woman was on hard drugs,or he was paying her hard cash,he really must go down as the ugliest, creepiest bastard in the history of rock'n'roll. They did have some great tunes though.
Melodic Motorhead- don't get much better!

Killer tune! 'Another Perfect Day' and 'Ace of Spades' were the pinnacle of Motorhead, period. Too bad the Robertson line-up didn't last longer.

No offence Lemmy

Or he plays bass and lead vocals in a famous rock band ;). Lemmy's been laid more than every poster here combined.

Loved this song when it was released. It's one of the best, and most underrated, hard rock songs of the 1980s.
