  • When I got off Zoloft I got cool brain zaps it was pretty cool. I not sure what everybody is talking with zoloft withdrawal symptoms.

  • I don't think it's the pharmaceutical company doing anything wrong. The drugs help, there are just too many success stories. As for coming off them, I went of Lexapro and Wellbutrin cold turkey with almost no side effects. An occasional dizziness for a 3-4 days and I got over it. I don't think the problem is marketing. I think it's people being big fat babies A. for taking them for having a few bad days, and B. for not sucking it up and getting over yourself.

  • @TheJuicyBunj Oh and really, it's kind of your fault for not doing at least a LITTLE research. I mean really even in the dawn of the internet you could have found the beginning of this "SSRI discontinuation syndrome." I mean really, anyone stupid enough to take a prescription medication without doing a little consumer-end research has it coming. I mean hell, it's YOUR body! I know people who get prescriptions filled and they just take the pills. They don't even read the BOTTLE!

  • Could we use these medications to enhance people safely?

  • Salespeople are replacing doctors and salespeople all care about one thing and guess what, Its not you!!

  • Hi im in the U.K and have been taking paroxetine (paxil) for a few months. I started to feel better and thought i didnt need it anymore....im currently on day 6 of withdrawal and have never felt so sick in my life!....the electric shock sensations im having in my body when i move my head or eyes is awful if anyone can help me please get in touch

    thanks guys

  • @TheBraduk1985 Well this is probably too late for you but there's a great site called Paxil Progress for help in withdrawing from the drug. The bottom line is: you must wean yourself off Paxil very slowly; only a 10% drop every 3-6 months at the most. Many people have had this experience and the majority agree that the slow way is the best way.

  • @TheBraduk1985 Yes thats normal for drugs like paxil... it should only be taken under the direct care of a physician, DO NOT suddenly stop taking this medication with out first talking to your doctor as serious side effects may occur. Most of the time it takes several weeks or even a few months to get off this medication depending on what dose your at and how long. I would go down -10MG every 2-3 weeks to get off of it. But I'm not a doctor... I just know that most people go down very slowly.

  • @TheBraduk1985 you can never tell if your symptoms wouldn't have improved if you took a placebo. Besides, the people in this video aren't saying SSRI's don't work, they sure do! The problem these people adress is that the farmaceutical companies try to make you think you are sick/depressed, whilst maybe you are just having a bad day. It's called medicalization. Wikipedia: Medicalization

  • just smoke some meth and weed u wont feel shy anymore

  • @qert079 wtf.. i hear weed gives u more anxiety lol.

  • I can't believe how stupid must Ameicans are. The truth is that the majority of people who are diagnosed with Social Anxiety Disorder are perfectly heathy. It is shyness!! Shyness is not a disease! It is a personality trait! You all have been bullshitted by big pharma to believe you have a disease, one that was made up by them so they could make money off your dumb ass! Quit taking drugs! Grow some guts and stand up, lose your shyness naturally by having some balls!!!!!!!

  • Yes that's true but there are people who suffer from SERIOUS panic disorders and anxiety attacks that prevent them from living their lives normally. What do you suggest for them?

  • These are real health problems and most of the medications prescribed are very good. Lets try to keep an open mind about this.

  • @gallantman44

all these drugs are analogs of vitamin d, magnesium and omega 3 and they are totally unnatural and rejected by the body.

  • @gallantman44 If these are real health problems, why are they not diagnosed with an actual chemical exam, which is to say, why is there no definitive measure of the monoamines in the brain (e.g. serotonin) performed by medical doctors?

  • I worry alot about the potential side effects of "big pharma" prescription drugs, I have always gravitated toward a natural alternative. For the longest time I had no idea that such an alternative even existed for cholesterol! I thought Rx was the only choice. Sterolyn is brilliant no side effects at all for me. I really appreciate this product.

  • I have never taken any types of drugs myself but I have been around people who have been taking prescription drugs for their mental or psychological problems. My suggestion to them has been always the same.. eat healthy, exercise, and try to reduce the dosage of the medication and you will be healthy again.

  • i have been taking zoloft for 5 years and i cant stop taking them if i do i get sick

  • You are now a profitable customer for the pharmaceutical industry. :-)

  • @latyona07 u can but you have to do it slowly i had a onset seizure from quitting xanax cold turkey when i woke up i was in hospital...lol first seizure i ever had i refuse to take any medication that either have serious sideeffects or can lead to death...

  • Latyona07, you could try 5-HTP or S-AME, which are available from vitamin companies, also sold in many health food stores, much cheaper and don't have the horrid side effects.

I'm suspicious about your addiction. It might be that you're just conditioned to believe you need zoloft. You owe it to yourself to get off zoloft. It and similar drugs are only meant for the short term, 3 months max.

  • @latyona07 Im just glad i never felt compelled to get on these shitty pills. Im sorry to read that latyona :(

  • my doctor recommended my anti-depressant medication, but I refuse to take them due to all these adverse side effects...I'll try to tough it out...

  • Smoke some weed. Get laid. Anything is better then these drugs.

  • Stick to the food pyramid without flourided water and without high white starched breads and pastas and you should be fine...You don't need anti-depressants and doctors...It's all a scam...

  • Arsenic is all natural. I suggest you put a little in organic chicken broth every morning and see what happens.

If you are a vegan, you can make a nice almond broth, but don't forget the arsenic.

  • sounds like a great way to kill yourself. idiot

  • Or take this example. You can buy methamphetamine from a pharmacy with a doctor's prescription, or you can buy it from some guy who makes it in his kitchen. Same drug.

Which one do YOU want to take? The form JFK took, or the form that occassionally blows up residential kitchens?

The "home remedies are better" line is BS spun by people reacting to the unaffordability of real medicine for too many normal people.

  • Neither of them are natural so I wouldn't take them. I'd take L-phenylalanine.

  • A salt is as natural as an amino acid. Amphetamines are salts. L-phenylalanine is an amino acid. It does not exist in nature alone. you would have to eat a lot of food, and get fat. Besides, what "test" would you use to know if you need L or D or L/D-phenylalanine, or tyrosine? And what test have you taken to know you are not Pheynywhateverkinetic, or intolerant of phenylalanine?

You are a crock, probably afraid a real doctor could tell how nutso you are, lol.

  • tried that.. doesnt work

  • Sometimes even the same chemical, like pseudoephedrine, can be found in pharmaceutical grade medicines or health food store preparations. What you buy at the pharmacy is subject to far greater quality control than what you buy at the health food store.

  • Did you know that most women who successfully commit suicide do it in the five days before their period?

Do you really want to scoff at a medicine that prevents suicide?

Wellbutrin helps smokers quit. You really want to scoff at a medicine that saves lives?

  • I wouldn't scoff at anything. But drugs are synthesized from substances found in Nature.

It's safer to take the natural medicine.

  • That is absolutely untrue. Most obvious case in point is that some medicines can be made from nicotine from tobacco, but smoking cigarettes, while the most "natural medicine" is not safer.

IF you were badly injured, would you want morphine from a pharmaceutical company, or an all natural opiate concoction made by a traditional Afghani woman from her poppy fields?

  • In my case, there is a family history of depression. I've experienced major depression, and varying degrees of "cure" with different medicines and treatments.

My depression is definately a "sign" I want my nieces and nephews, children and siblings to know about. In fact, the best anti-depressant I've been on is one my sister used well. Doc said, when a first degree relative does well on a med, it's good indicator that it will work for her relatives.

  • I agree that much of our depression ( is lifestyle related. Now, it takes a fair of amount of ENERGY and DRIVE to live a "countercultural" life, to cook your own healthy, chemical free food, to go for a swim every morning, to sit in sunlight every day, to not be inundated with bad news or oppressed by mean people, and ENERGY and MOTIVATION are precisely what depressed people are depleted of

I've always thought anti-psychiatry people got dxed with something embarrassing, lol.

  • What TEST did they take, to show it was a Disease?? There is no MEDICAL test to prove

    a mental condition.

  • The signs and symptoms can be a valid "test". You don't need lab work to identify malaria, or depession, or even pregnancy for that matter, lol.

Depression kills more people than bad medicine does. Untreated depression is linked to suicide, homicide, recklessness and preoccupation, the latter two can cause lethal accident.

  • I agree to a certain point, I was told it was a Chemical Imbalance in the Brain, How do

    they test for this??

  • They don't. They rule out disease that can cause depression (such as hypothyroidism) if you are at risk, and they should check that any medicines you take are not known depressants. Basically, they know there is a chemical imbalance in your brain because you are depressed. If you don't WANT to be depressed anymore, you can treat the symptoms with medicine while you pursue a healthier physical and emotional lifestyle. Medicine can make the lifestyle overhaul POSSIBLE.

  • Drug-based medical science is FRAUD.

Psychiatry is a science of murder with impunity.

Anti-depressants should not be taken for ANY reason.

The only "good" these poisons do is to generate billions in profits for Merck, Pfizer, Ely Lily et al.

  • I agree: ANTIDEPRESSANTS should not be taken for any reason. Take nutrients or change lifestyle.

  • I agree but when a person is in a really deep major depression a drug is necessary, I'm not suggesting that it should be one the well known anti-depressants - particuarly SSRIs. Tramadol which acts on 4 neurotransmitters may be worth a shot for some btw it has 1/10 the serotonin reuptake of a typical ssri like zoloft for eg..

  • It's that easy. Gather all the credit cards, get cash advances, go someplace where you won't be extradited, and leave the husband and kids to fend for themselves.

Take B vitamins, find a younger man, sleep on the beach all day, and eat five fruits and vegetables a day.

  • That's in irresponsible thing to say. How would you feel is someone killed himself, or his wife, or "accidently" drive off a bridge, or got good and drunk and burned down his house with his kids in it, because YOU told him not to take the anti-depressant his doctor advised?

I love SSRI's. I tell my relatives that there IS a family history of depression, and if they are feeling extended symptoms, to tell their doctor.

  • PAXIL WE LOVE YOU.

  • Paxil is good for you.
