  • i wish the sister sledge make the video as the dvd ,save my time and watch them on dvd so where can i order it ??

  • King of Tomorrow version is the best...

  • Kathy has one of those soul voices that you would recognize without seeing a video.... she's has it.... like Gladys Knight, Aretha Franklin, Diana Ross, Roberta Flack, Dionne Warrick...... timeless voices...... wowwwwwww I can listen to her sing all day.......

  • It was my understanding that the sisters DID NOT want to team up with Nile Rodgers and Bernard Edwards of CHIC, but did not have the clout to say no. I don't know if they did not want to be put in the disco category or what. In any regard, I'm glad they did the Nile/Bernard songs. They are some of Sister Sledge's best! Nile and Bernard sometimes do not get the respect they deserve for propelling the careers of so many other artists.

  • Lost n Alive took me here!

  • I love raspy voices like Kathy's.

  • pure gold!!!!

  • Damn, Eddie Daniels on tenor sax!

  • where's the 4th one?

  • Great song by Sister Sledge that doesn't get enough recognition.

  • I am not sure why a lot of people mention Beyonce in so many comments. I guess she must be on top of her game because people say negative things so much and compare her to others all of the time. That is a huge compliment to her as an artist. I am not a fan of Beyonce's but you have to admit, vocally, she is one of the best right now. These ladies were and are still great. Beyonce is a great vocalist.

  • Classic

  • @tanjatuulikki You may as well ask...Where is The Love?

  • That was a beautiful group of sisters .... each one was gorgeous on their own.

  • love her brackets!

  • only song that ever mentions "popcorn and jellybeans" :)

  • @surfhawaii08 Small dick small minds, lol.

  • These girls were something else back in the day! I think Kathy still had her braces on in this video! One of them is missing..Debbie?

  • @IrisMG Yes, Debbie...I think this is when she had her baby.

  • @MsTexas73 You are correct.

  • I wish I was the microphone

  • awesome ladies

  • great

  • this is good, but He's the Greatest Dancer will always be my favourite

  • This is very special song, I´am remember la Discoteque " Don Chufo " to Spain. Good Times. Thanks very much.

  • Todays groups cannot match the 70,s legends sister sledge are class shame theres no Bernard Edwards Bass on this track its still a great song though like the album version...

  • I love this song! I saw Sister Sledge at EPCOT in October 2009. They were fantastic!

  • i agread with the last comment , on sister sledge ,thise girls was and still is one of the best female groupe ever , to me i think Beyonce NEED TO GET A VOCAL TRAINER ,her intonation is not perfect 4someone that the industry push on the public, her voice is not true , but she could wyne , nad thats what keep her out there , and her marketing is good . BUT SISTER SLEDGE FOR EVER . TUOCHES ME WHEN THAY SONG S PLAY ANYWERE,, PEACE SISTERS

  • Its funny, the sisters hated this song, but its one of my favorites!

  • This group brings back so much good memories. Kathy's voice is so recognizable. This one of the best girl groups in r&b and pop history.

  • Without the original bass line, not a penny worth

  • this is NOT the original version.

it s easy to understand that the bass player is not the great Bernard Edwards.

    pitty.......

  • oh thanks alot for letting me know ;)

  • Hey can you tell me if Kim ever sang lead on any of their songs??? And if so which one? I would be much obliged.

  • Kim sang lead on songs like "One More Time" (1979), "Easy Street" (1980), "I Don't Wanna Say Goodbye" (1981) and probably a few more.

  • @Nightdancerecords Nobody ever posts any of those songs :(

  • good reaction 83survivor! i was agreat fan those days, they made timeless music!

  • Nobody does it like Kathy Sledge. Those vocals and her sexy innocent personality is bar none. Not even Beyonce could ever come close to this. Kathy Sledge was the female Michael Jackson of the 70s and 80s with Sister Sledge. That woman was bad and I mean, bad in a good way. That powerhouse voice of hers and that face...you could fall in love all over again with Kathy. She was ahead of her game in this classic Chic tune. Kathy is divine and I mean.......divine!

  • fuck she's sexy...

and i of course also like the music

  • thanks alot !

  • hey can you tell me who is who from top to bottom on the lp "love somebody today" and from left to right on the back cover of "together" ? if you could it would be greatly appreciated.

  • I love it !!!

  • I love their music. I would love to see a video of them performing "All the Man I Need" with David Simmons. I absolutely love that song and how they sung it.

  • c´est CHIC

  • Sure.

  • What year was this 1979/1980 possibilly?

  • Las amo!!!

  • I remember she was pregnant at that time.

  • Warner Music Group have taken all their artists off you tube including chic. i used to have mt forbidden lover on you tube great track WMG suck

  • 5 stars !!!!!!!!

  • I just loved her voice!

  • does anybody knows if its eddie daniels on the sax???

  • was this in aus? the commentator at the start is aussie

  • No it's from Top Of The Pops in Britain Jan 80. The announcer is Simon Bates who had spent some time working in New Zealand.

  • LOOK at those braces bute lol

-Where is the other sledge she's MIA

  • This music is god, people.

  • Wow - I love this song - Kathy's unique vocals with that hook - this should have been HUGE! The b-side was another of the album tracks Good Girl which is also class.

  • Sounds great... & that was a live lead! I've never seen this. Thank U groove 559 for posting....I appreciate it!

  • Wow...I used to love these ladies. I wish the female entertainers of today would have this kind of class and talent. It just isn't there anymore.

  • yep about 90% of black/african people in europe especially united kingdom spend all their money on stupid fake looking extensions, if they actually took the time and patience to grow their hair out and THEN straightend/relaxed it, theyd look so much nicers, i mean they look like barbie dolls their extensions are awful and must absolutly kill the scalp too!

  • Ah, the glory days when black women wore the hair God gave them.

  • I dunno if its Eddie Daniels on the saxophone like on the studio version, but the studio version sax solo by Eddie Daniels is THE best funk sax solo ever

  • I've been listening to this song for 28 years and today--in 2008--I just realized how amazing that solo is.

  • wow thanks I loved all those Sister sledge numbers in the late 70s early 80s.... funky and cool!

  • I always had a crush on Kathy till this DAY!!2008!! Very classy entertainer!!!

  • no way is that Bernard on Bass. He's playing with a plec

  • Excactly my thoughts for tonight! OLÉ ;-)

  • Philly All Day... Kathy use to teach Arobics in philly, Still looking good.

  • love this song.

  • Ultimate Chic production at its best! Love it!

  • this is other performance of this song-not from original vinil

  • at last! few people seem to know this one which ive loved for years.would have prefered the full album vers. but thanks anyway.

  • Where is Debbie Sledge?

  • She was the mother of several little ones. Therefore, she was absent quite a bit.

  • type it in

  • chictribute

  • I've just always been in love with Kathy. I don't even like most of Sister Sledge's songs.

  • SUPER! Thanks... I wish CHIC and the sisters would team up again, so we can have some real music released.

  • I thought for sure Kathy had her braces off by 1980.

  • do u no eveything bout sister sledge
