@Teeheehee093 japanese pro-wrestling (PURORESU) is more about being athletic while wwe is more about "showing" or being cool. mvp would sure like it better since he is more of an athlete than a performer like rock, or hogan!
MVP could have been so big in wwe because this guy had the whole package, mic skills, ring talent, everything. personally i was a fan of mvps in wwe and they really fucked up by letting him go.
Is the WWE on tv in Japan and is it popular? So when a guy like MVP goes to Japan is it a big deal? Also, what kind of money can big name American wrestlers make over there?
@ar4216 It is very popular and in MVPs case, it got him recognized by those major japanese promotions since he was also a mainstay in the WWE. In terms of money, big name american wrestlers make pretty good dough considering Lesnar stayed for a few. Though more established gaijin stars certainly make more and have a stable position such as Giant Bernard (Albert) or even legends like Stan Hansen or Steve Williams. In short, its a living.
What i'm trying to figure out is why people even bother to look at wrestling videos if the first thing they gonna say is FAKE. Look wrestling isn't fake, it's scripted just like a movie but the actors are stuntmen. If you don't like it then don't watch it. IT MAKES MORE SENSE.
@bambebom This is just as scripted as WWE. The guys do tend to hit each other a little harder than WWE though. The fact that you are confused by this makes me realize how bad WWE is in comparison to modern Puro.
Try watching some other Japanese companies like NJPW, AJPW, NOAH, or Dragon Gate. I'm sure you will love it!
@DirkMantooth hhhhhh i'm not afraid , but i don't love this wrestilng entertainment , its very boring , but in wwe there are very exiting things and storylines .... thank you for help ;)
@bambebom I fully agree with DirkMantooth about expanding your horizons. Until '08, I only watched WWE. Then I picked up watching TNA because it started airing in my country. Then in early '10 I started watching ROH over the internet and on DVDs. Even though I haven't watched many shows, none of them live, I'm already impressed by them. I've always wanted to watch NJPW and now I've found someone who uploads it. WWE is better than TNA, but TNA has had its classic matches.
@bambebom (Damn YouTube and its 500 character limit.) If you want to check out a classic TNA match, check out /show?p=KO9tnQbw8JU or /watch?v=HFY50y7OVEs (in case you don't know, put them after the normal YouTube address). ROH isn't for everyone as it emphasises the wrestling much more than the entertainment aspect. Tried finding some great matches on YouTube, but couldn't. You could check out the ringofhonor channel. Their "Video Wires" are mostly promos, but you might be able to find a match.
@bambebom lol first of all wwe or any wrestling isn't fake, its scripted the injuries are real. wrestling is pre determinded everyone should know that...
Considering NJPW is one of the most prestigious organizations on the planet why not? If it's good enough for people like Sting, Flair, Muta, Nash, HBK Chono, Yuji Nagata and Kurt Angle it's good enough for MVP.
good for MVP.. he was a decent talent who was misused towards the end of his time in the WWE, he became pretty boring to watch.. maybe with him wrestling for NJPW, that'll help him add to his in ring repertoire and make him a more valuable wrester if he ever comes back to the US... nothing but good can come from this
@neverica yea, well wrestling was way better in the 1980s lol. Here's something you should consider, CM Punk, who's probably your holy grail is hugely inspired by this style of wrestling. notice the lack of generic drop kicks and clotheslines.... you actually get to see some real moves.
@neverica No clue what you're talking about. Japanese wrestling is a million times better then the wwe. Or any real american wrestling company for that fact.
@SinestroCW I wouldn't say that I mean it's not about the views or the storylines but the dedication of the wrestlers themselves which tna wwe and njpw obviously have
@NANU1115 He didn't leave for improvement. As said in a recent interview, he was just sick and tired of working with the WWE "creative" bullshit. Since before he was in WWE, his dream was to be in Japan.
That being said, you do have something there. I bet he is going to improve IMMENSELY just like Bernard/Albert did.
@DirkMantooth yea.... if you listen to Former WWE creative writer Dave Lagana's podcast I Love Wrestling, MVP talks about how he wanted to wrestle in NJPW way before going to WWE.... after listening to the interview you get more respect for the man... he talks about when he was jobbing for a long time and the incident that happened before the streak and he talks about his relationship with Chris Benoit
@pheagles777 Maybe but he is in much better shape in this video.. something he wasn't willing to do while in WWE(sure he was in shape but at the level he is now) it took WWE kickin his ass out like he was nothing for him to realize he needed to make adjustments.. this is obvious as he realized he is a felon and that he squashed a great opportunity with WWE.. All he had to do was get in shape.. and he was comfortable with the check and that is what fucked him over.
I was saying the guy was wrong for saying WWE kicked his ass out of the company because he was out of shape. But you say in a reply to me that dadankness is not wrong?
@dadankness He asked for his release. I agree with you he does look in better shape but that is probably because he has more time to focus on working out. He said himself that the wwe touring schedule is so hectic that he only had time to come home and pick up clean clothes before he headed out again.
I never liked the play maker as a finisher for MVP or anybody else.On rare occasions I've seen wrestlers pull it off but for the most part it falls flat for me. I think the key is to put emphasis at just the right moment to make the impact more evident. Either way MVP is looking like a beast in NJPW so good luck to him
Got to recruit Sheamus, Drew McEntyre, Consequence Creed, Gregory Helms, Christian, Alberto Del Rio, Shark Boy, Wade Barrett, Alex Riley, Husky Harris, Cody Rhodes, Kofi Kingston, Evan Bourne, Shelton Benjamin, Chavo Guerrero, Carlito, Goldust to join NJPW. Who do you think is the best fit to join if you have to pick?
@21richkid Sheamus; I would love to see him take on Devitt. Carlito; he could be a great heel there. Shelton Benjamin; it's clear WWE was never going to give him a World Titlem so NJPW might as well. Chavo Guerrero; there's nothing left for him in WWE.
