Well, I guess it could be for both. I do it, and teach it, for fitness. It's a great workout... better than anything else I've tried and it's a lot of fun too! It takes a certain amount of strength, flexibility and fearlessness... The stripper connotation associated with pole fitness is probably the thing that makes it most difficult for people to try a class... but the fitness classes are not about stripping at all.
@guitartur... Whew... Take a chill pill, Dude. When teaching routines in class we mix it up so everyone gets a chance to do a routine to different styles of music. That's how they get better. A slow song, a fast song... all different genres of music. Please don't take it personally that it's not a Whitesnake song. If my students asked me to teach them a routine to a Whitesnake song I would do it in a second.
a cindy está com corpo em cima e a performace demais. mas será q. o david n se importa???Aqui no brasil ela seria cotata como dançarina de boate (striper)
Hi Cindy - amazing! I know that learning this is an ongoing process, but how long would you say it takes to get to a level where you can do quite a lot of the moves shown in your clip? and how many times per week is recommended. Have done ballet, yoga, flamenco throughout my life when children permit (!) but now at age 41 need a new challenge to give me confidence in my 40s when it's harder to keep the weight from sneaking up on you! Many thanks.
It sounds like you have a lot in your background that will really help you excel in pole fitness! Mostly what takes time for people is the strength required for some of the moves. It's so individual I can't really give you a time frame, but the learning curve for pole is pretty fast once you have the beginner moves down. I'd recommend you try to get two classes in a week to begin and see where you go from there. Find a good instructor so you learn proper form! That is extremely important!
Thank goodness, there is no stripping in this video! Just a very disciplined person. If everyone was this disciplined and beautiful, the world would be a better place!! Very admirable.
DAVID IS A PRETTY LUCKY GUY TO HAVE YOU IN HIS LIFE HOPE HE APPRECIATES YOU. WISH I LOOKED AS GOOD AS YOU AND COULD POLE DANCE SAW A GUY TRY IT ONE NIGHT WHEN HE WAS DRUNK AND HE LANDED ON HIS BACKSIDE NEVER LAUGHED SO MUCH IN MY LIFE. WHY ARE SOME MEN SUCH TWATS.
Well, I don't see any stripping in that video myself. (Clothes are slippery, so you need to have a lot of skin exposed to do certain moves on the pole or you'll fall off.) Give a pole fitness class a try and you'll find out the fitness part pretty quickly!

Those shoes are actually from BCBG... They're great! They zip up the back so they're easy to get on and off when teaching if I need to spot someone!
