  • @Lolalai: well, how do you know they are muslim? You just say that but you can't know! I don't think these guys are muslim. I think there are more atheist people who do such things in the netherlands than muslims...

  • oh god they were so stupid! don't they know the difference between romance and an epic bromance.

  • lucas dancing lmao

  • It was a silly proposition by the writers to have a queerbashing scene. To be honest, neither of them looks gay and why should somebody assume that 2 guys who hug in the street are gay. What is the world coming to. Ridiculous Couldn't they just be mugged like it happens to everyone regardless of sexuality, race or nationality?

Since when is immigration linked to homophobia?? To assume this isn't it called scapegoating? Tons of people are homophobic, not only muslims

  • Awww. But they're budds...

What a way to start off the new year.

  • I can't even comprehend how someone could do that. Not just gay bashing, but anything of the like. It's horrid.

That being said. I WANT TO KICK THEIR ASSES SO BAD RIGHT NOW> FFFFFFFFF.

Eye for an eye what? Violence who? XD

(all jokes aside, not cool. Those guys are douches)

  • F***ing gay bashers. :(

  • I have heard gay bashing in Netherlands is on rise due to rise in immigrant from Arab countries

  • @yamdev11 Have you got any solving?

  • @akomor1

yes and that is to stp immigartion from those countries, also to culturally integrate existing immigrant

  • @yamdev11 But it would be difficult. The only way I know is to be against joining Turkey to EU.

    Translate this in google: wiadomosci.onet.pl/kiosk/kraj/ratunek-z-kobiecego-piekla,1,3583631,kiosk-wiadomosc.html

  • @akomor1

yes and that is to stop immigartion from those countries, also to culturally integrate existing immigrant

  • that was awful seeing noud and lucas get attacked.

  • Wow, that's the first time I've seen a straight guy get gay bashed on a show! The only answer is for everyone to be tolerant of everyone!

  • i have the feeling that they are so gonna end together )

  • omg, that sucks that the guys were attacked

  • almost every foreign show has American music in it...cool, but why is that?

  • OMG~~poor Lucas & Noud. Wow-this ciuld go either way for their relationship. This show keeps ya coming back. Thankx Mark & Happy New Year to you & all Lucas' fans around the world xx

  • the name of the song is Day 'n' nite from Kid Cudi

  • OMG>>> MY poor boys....

  • @sebastianjktn: it's called DAY and NIGHT by KID CUDI

  • I love the show....what is the name of the song in Lucas party??

  • ooh my world.didnt see that coming serious.

  • would have been really awesome and a different twist on this often used storyline to have them actually fight the guys off. It still would have been traumatic enough to bring them closer together but without this very familiar layer of tragedy, recovery, guilt, etc... Yes bashing and violence happens all the time, as do accidental pregnancies, infidelities, spousal abuse etc... but that doesn't stop it from being a plot device, and not one that requires much effort.

  • this is a terible story line

    no just kidding

    i love it

    but they got BANKED

    thats a bummer

  • Didn't see that one coming... Poor chaps. And my sympathy to any guy who's had to go through this...

For something different: is Dex supposed to be secretly in love with Lucas? Cos that's what's 'logical' in my head... He looks way cuter than Noud anyway...

  • There is nothing new under the sun. Human beings go through experiences that on the face of them are the same: birth, marriage, love, divorce, jealousy, breakups, school, work, etc. It's all part of the human experience.

The FACT that there is a gay bashing isn't what matters. What matters is the writing of THIS story and how the characters respond to the situation. How it's handled is what could make it special. Why not just wait to see what happens before condemning the show.

  • People get bashed. Gay people get attacked in the street in even the most liberal of countries. In gay neighborhoods. It's part of our lives and we can't act like it's just some dramatic trope.

Women get raped, gays get bashed, old people get mugged.

In New York just this past fall there were 3 horrible bashings in the city and it's one of the most gay cities in the country.

Being gay is not all sunshine and roses and falling in love and romantic angst.

Every gay person knows this. That's life

  • Comment removed

  • The show is not sending that message at all...

It's obvious that this attack is something horrible. In the next episode we saw half the cast react to this and all of them were shocked/angry and it (the bashing) is seen as something VERY BAD. The police is even involved.

Those radical homophobes you mentioned. They don't need a soap to get "permission" to do these things.

I guess showing rape, murder, etc. is also sending the message that it's cool to do those things?

  • @johnosahon You don't even know where the story is going... *rolls eyes*

  • Totally.

1)As if people don't get bashed every day all the time (THEY DO)

    2) As if you can tell where a story is going by virtue of watching one scene or incident. Who knows what will come out of this.

    3) Seriously, folks need to just watch the show and enjoy instead of trying to predetermine the storyline. Sigh...

  • lucas and nina's mom should STOP LYING. she knows she is JEALOUS and wanted to know what is happening with her ex.

That woman is still in love with him. I don't know why she married her rebound.

  • @johnosahon

i agree, before she got maried with jack.

she remembered all the times he saved her. i really was wtf when she said it was nothing and maried with jack

  • OMG! i knew it's coming, but still it's was so hard to watch...

I agree with people who said writers used old twist to brought gay bashing thing, BUT guys it's still (unfortunately) the part of gay people's life, even in free and democratic countries it's still a BIG issues, and i think people should realize that how things are goes for many gays and lesbians in our world. So i think they showed a real thing actually, sad, but real:(

and guys,i bet those two gonna be lovers soon!

    thanks Mark:)

  • cud see that coming ,when that group walked by

  • It's now obvious (to me) that Noud

has deep feelings for Lucas. He

was in the middle of a successful party, yet walked away. Why? Because Lucas wasn't there to share in it. He

may not know it yet, but he's feeling

more than the "best friend" thing.

They were on their way to Noud's

party so happy together. Then the

    gay bashing. Noud's attitude about

gays wasn't bad, but he said a lot of snarky things to Lucas. That may

change now that he was beaten up. I hope that it does.

  • uh i was thinking kiss under the street lamp!?

and then i got gay bashing under the street lamp.... :|

not cool! but i do agree that this could bring noud and lucas together... or even further apart.

i'm thinking the former, that tension they had going on during that last scene has got to be sexual :P

  • XD you're right!

  • I think some peope are a little bit fast to judge this assault as being a poor way to create tension and drama by gay bashing.

What if Noud sees Lucas in pain and perhaps fighting for his life, only to realise that Lucas means so much more to him than just being a normal friend?

Perhaps there is more to this than just to create drama. It can be a turning point in their friendship/relationship.

  • @Serepticon

i dunno like i said before.

victems in this show. are victems.

    they are easilly beaten down.

but mayby im wrong and in the last minute Noud dos something heroic. i hope. or my theory is just correct.

  • @StrawberryGun500

i cannot spoil but. i can allready said the episode today pissed me off.

  • OMFG To much for words - almost...two men out walking on New Year's Eve running into each other, giving each other a hug in a friendship way, and thugs think it is gay and do a bash, wow, now that is fucked up big time...reactions from all will be horrid and will cause many folds in the SL, I think, but hopefully they can be together soon with love and romance...thx so much for all...

  • @cumbinow4fun

yeah, thats like giving a message too all guys dont give hugs. if you do you are gaaaaaay. thats so stupid.

  • Fact Lucas & Noud are both victims of an assault the perpetrators assumed both were gay. Nevertheless, an assault took place regardless even though the writer set it up as another gay bashing statistic. Not very original or maybe he/she was in a hurry to finish the script so he/she could finish their Christmas shopping.......... still a very poor attempt !

  • And we just saw Nick bashed on OLTL-

  • its true gay bashing isnt a very original story line but i think that the fact that the writers made Noud (who is at this point completly straight) a victim to is very different. after they get help you have to wonder what will happen to Lucas and Noud, cause I feel like Lucas is going to feel guilty that its almost his fault that this happened to Noud since he is himself gay. and who knows how Noud will deal with this. it will be interesting to see how their relationship develops from this.

  • I absolutely agree. For a straight to be gay bashed is completly new and fresh. The irony is brilliant.

  • thnx im glad im not the only ones who see the potential in this storyline!

  • I guess Noud won the competition.

  • horrifying ending :-(

  • I have noticed victems of this show easilly get beaten down. i know they dont know any fighting moves but come on.

  • Wow...the writers are so cruel. I was just beginning to get all happy with them making up and all ... talk about a punch in the gut.

  • even more on new year's episode...gay bashing please don't do that

  • I just don't understand why the writers of ALL these soaps. European and American, when they have gay characters, have to have the gay bashing incident in ALL of them. Can't they find some other storyline to use by now? They have all used it to death and it's really a pain in the ass to have to sit through this crap. Be a little more inventive writers!

  • I totally agree. Why is it that writers (and we can just about guess they are straight) think that Gay bashing equals drama? It's a VERY tired and overused excuse for writing.

I'd like to see the writers get straight bashed by Gay fans, and ask, "Is that dramatic enough for you? Do you have a clue, yet?"

  • Every story that has women in it involves babies, paternity issues, marriage and divorce.

Violence against gay people is part or our lives. If you are out and you live in a large city, you are often at risk for being assaulted for being gay or for being suspected of being gay.

Soaps with gay character should not whitewash this fact from life.

Lots of shows with gays haven't had gay bashing stories (Bros and Sis, Greek, Hollyoaks, ATWT, Ugly Betty and more)

Gays get bashed. That's real life.

  • @PlatypusRising55 Part of our life's or not, and I've had friends that have been bashed and even died, I do NOT want to see it over and over as a weak excuse for a Gay storyline. It's a small part of our life's, one of the unfortunate facts of being Gay, just as spousal abuse my be a part of straight's life's,

(and some Gay couples) however there are more interesting "devices" that writers can use to generate drama beside violence.

  • YOU see it as a device. I see it as one aspect of a character's life experience.

Anything that happens to a character COULD be a "device".

What matters is how the story is written and how the characters respond. That's what makes a story interesting, special or meaningful.

I appreciate that you may not want to see it.

    I'm not disrespecting that.

To just decide already that writing is "lazy" based solely on a gay bashing rather than how the storyline plays out is short-sighted to me.

  • @ frozenbaby2004: While it seems pretty harsh to reduce a senseless hate crime to a plot device, that's not necessarily always what it is. Most (straight) people don't know how deep homophobia still runs, and how explosive and violent reactions can be. To show that as a part of life, is to acknowledge it. Might actually be a positive thing;

  • Well tons of shows on American and British TV shows with gay characters have never had a gay bashing. It's a coincidence that others have this fall. It's not like they're all writing stories together. Homophobia is ugly. That's reality. Yes it's hard to watch and uncomfortable to think about but people need to understand that homophobia doesn't just go away because SOME countries and states have gay rights protections. Gay bashing happens everyday, every where. It's part of our lives.

  • oh wow

  • what the hell.... what kind of storyline is this... at least let one of them to be the hero... There is no point for both of our fav characters to be in such a tragedy,,,, Noud should save Lucas and realize how much he loveeeeeeeeeeee him... that should be how it is.... Now may be Noud will be more afraid to be gay....

  • oh god! I asked for some action but not of this kind.. :-(

  • whant more!!!!

  • damn . was kei zielig

  • de tekst hiernaast meld: Episode 3954: Lucas and Noud aren't enjoying their own New Year's Eve parties.

haha.. enjoying is niet echt het juiste woord neem ik aan!?

  • misschien moet je de zin nogmaals lezen? Het klopt volledig.

  • oeps... sorry!
