Fantastic! passion, technique, blues, structure. He built a hell of a solo there and it felt like it meant something to him. I don't think he sounds very much like Phil Woods. He sounds like a saxophone player blowing his heart out! (not that Phil can't, but sometimes...) I will be looking for more stuff by this young musician.
I go to the best arts high school in the country and our prodigy is Adam O'Farrill, i would love to see both of them go at it. except this guys 20 years old now and Adams 16, still it would be interesting
for you assholes who criticize him, this guy is only 15 on this video, and while you were masturbating he was playing at festivals with all the great jazz dudes ... ehehe
i agree with the dude that got some thumbs down.. this guy has no feel, its all artificial. sounds a lot to me like a jam session and he planned out every single run of 16th notes..
LOL? Do you not know what jazz is? Do you really think ANY jazz musician improvs lines that they've NEVER played before or ran through? No one is at that level. Even the most impressive musicians hear licks, write them out, and practice them and learn to fit them in certain chords against certain modes and tones.
You're criticizing this kid for following the guidelines of Jazz improv which makes you, sir, a fucking moron.
I could sit and listen to him blow the whole night. That bass..wish it was better recorded, I think it's got a lovely rich tone which only comes through a couple of times.
i have to say he has some nice musical ideas and he carries them through well most of the time, but I do find his vibrato way too out of style - he needs to listen some more tradition before he matures his style. Great potential...
are you people for real ? this kid is a prodigious talent, such maturity, phrasing and architecture long with monster chops and what a soul ! have you guys got your heads so far up your butts that you can't hear anything but your own inadequacies or are you just having a laugh ?

I listen, I listen and I can not stop. Brilliantly arranged standards. Very talented boy. In 20 years will be the leading saxophonist

@bconroy2 What? You can hear it in the phrasing and tone and a HUGE amount in note choice.

Kid sounds so much like Phil Woods that it's scary xD

I bet that every one who talks bad about this dude, don't come even close to what he can do.

I'd like to hear him now in 2010. He's probably even twice as good. Prodigies don't have a peak point, they keep improving.

He is superb. Forza Francesco.

Me suena muy a Phil woods. Entre la copia y el original me quedo con el segundo.
