I wouldn't think they are any more "horror" than the Stray Cats. More along the popular vein now, but they're not disguising it since Pop's is their name. Little too mainstream for me but I'd still go if they came to the local bar to play. That pirate look in some of the other vids looks like a throwback to Adam and the Ants to me sort of. A+ to Nekroman on guitar. You either sell-out or buy-in if you want to make money I guess.
