  • Is this Player or workstation

  • Thanks

  • Nice comparison!

    Hmm.... what song is this??

  • i tried both. but, VMware works best for me.

  • @serialkissersband VirtualBox runs better in Linux Ubuntu than vmWare...

vmware runs like crap, and it always slows down my computer...

File transfer in vmware is slower, web connection is slower , and UBS devices don't work as well...

I'm sorry , but virtualbox just works more smoothly , and is easier to use..

and Now VirtualBox can even run Mac OSX ... it even has Mac options and settings.

  • @maw88ify Well when running them both in windows and running Linux based OSs as virtual machines as I am doing in this video. For me atleast VMWare is more reliable. This could be due to CPU architecture though. Using 64bit with virtual box is a nightmare on my machine anyways so thats why i use VMWare. Also virtualbox kept crappin' out me and freezes with Win 7 64 as the host OS. My suggestion is try VirtualBox. If it works well then no need for VMWare. Cheers,

    Jordan

  • @jawsykilla sadly ever time I run vmWare in Linux it grays out my screen ... and Files don't seem to be dragging and dropping correctly, some times it works other times it doesn't...

  • @maw88ify Do you mean running VMWare on a Linux Distro as the host OS or running a linux distro inside of VMWare?

  • @jawsykilla Yes I have Linux as my host, and Windows XP, Windows 7, BSD, and a hacked copy of Mac OS as my virtual machines ...

  • @maw88ify Ok fair enough. I suppose its what ever works best for the individual.

    Cheers,

    Jordan

  • @jawsykilla You seem like a good person...

If you have time check out my Art just Google FlashCadabra...

    take care...

  • I really don't like vmWare ...

For what I do on my computer VirtualBox works the best.

  • @serialkissersband not really... It's just a little less speedy than VmWare actually. I made a install speed comparison using Ubuntu of VmWare workstation and VirtualBox. Also it is a little less stable than VmWare. But you know what. VirtualBox is FREEE!!!!

  • lol my pcs so slow xD it took me 30 min just to install ubuntu

  • I Choose The Free one....

  • They are both good, but when I was using virtual box the virtual machine had a tendancy to crash frequently. As soon as I got VMware it was fine.

  • Did you install the Guest Additions?

  • I did, so I could get full screen

  • Which vmware product and version did you use, versus which virtualbox version?

  • VMware Workstation Version 6.0.4 Build-93057 vs Virtualbox 3.0.0
