  • absolutamente asombroso!!!!

  • 3:34 a bit of ball grabbing going on there?

  • ellaround, a sizeable number of the views on your JCS videos are mine. Thanks for sharing.

  • criss cornell would have be a good to play as Jesus should there will be a remake of this now :)

  • @flaviusfurius NO ONE CAN REMAKE THIS MASTERPIECE AND CAPTURE THE MAGIC OF IT!!!! REGARDLESS OF WHO SINGS IT TODAY UNLESS IT'S THE SAME!!!!! WHAT YOU SPEAK IS BLASPHEMY!!!!!

  • is it just me or does he have a lazy eye?

  • @henryF6 Yess, I've also noticed the way the eyes of this actor look. But that makes Jesus looks human, he was (if he really existed) a man, not some kind of superficial creature from above. Even though Jesus obviously didn't look like this because he was Aramaic and therefore back then in Israel, obviously dark. Dark hair, dark skin, dark eyes. And not the Western ideal , blond blue eyed with a light skin. He must've looked beautiful....

  • 6 people are priests.

  • @denkairl1

    Lol what?? XD

  • @VaiTrooper 6 people doesn't like this, the priests doesn't like Jesus, therefor, they're priests.

  • @denkairl1

Ohhh right =P I'm so thick haha

  • all the hairs on the back of my arms stand up every time I hear this

  • The man has an amazing instrument

  • can girls can play jesus? i wanna play jesus realy bad... (tear drop)

  • @Leaf30n I am afraid not, since the year 400...or 600 only men are allowed to be priest, and priests aren't allowed to married...silly beliefs. but nice music :3

  • @gaoth88 poo.... the songs here are so good.... i would love to be in this. but i cant play jesus :(

  • @Leaf30n Uhh, Jesus was a guy.

  • @killerpacdot yea i know that... i still wanna play Jesus... i know i obviously cant i mean im not stupid but it would still be awesome to play him but... as u said Jesus was a guy.

  • This is so 70's!!!!!!!

  • Jesus the Rock Star at 2:56

  • does he have a lazy eye?

  • @Jordygurrl22 HE SO DOES HAVE A LAZY EYE OR CROSS EYED...EITHER WAY THAT EYE CRAZY

  • Emozioni......

  • This has always been my favorite Jesus story...it's so earthy, inspiring and le's me see him as the God-man he is.

  • Thism has always been my favorite Jesus story...it's so earthy, inspiring and let's me see him as the God-man he is.

  • I feel it is beautiful: and I am He for whom you wait.

  • not stop...keep this comeing .. this is for all to hear ,,, you have to send his name..

  • Jesus had a lazy eye

  • I havent believed in god for years now, but this is still one of the greatest moments of cinematic history. I love this movie.

  • You know, the only thing I took from this film was that Jesus was a massive disturbance of the peace. Which made me look at the Bible in a different light; He was a rabble rouser, and a nuisance, which makes everything the Jewish Priesthood and the Romans seem completely sensible. He was this big figure moving around disturbing the status quo, the Priesthood wanted him gone to perserve their power, and the Romans wanted him gone to keep a Rome-Friendly government. Like Che Guevera vs Cuba.

  • I have learned Gethsemane without making any concsious effort to do so just by watching it so much on this site.

  • hehe, I laugh every time he says "god thy will is hard" i'm so immature

  • Now that what you call a rockGOD....

  • @KawaiiBlackPixie I couldn't agree more. I am a Gnostic Christian. They once wiped us out in the name of Jesus.

  • Underwent castration for this role, what commitment!

  • @MoralInvasion Lol! If he had it would have been worth it-one of the best performances I have ever seen in my life. Amazing musician.

  • @123jsbach And Carl Anderson as Judas, living the role and pouring out his soul in performances that must have left him drained and satisfied and complete.

  • @MoralInvasion I like your style-witty and yet sensititve.

  • A Lucy Jesus. Quite interesting.

  • 6 ppl are completely, utterly and undeniably deaf

  • oh wow... always been in love with this Ted Neeley...

  • Ah...it's like the bible with a friggin' awesome soundtrack. I wouldn't mind if this in the real thing.

  • One thing is certain about Ted Neely - he's NO Ian Gilliam.

  • @USAon3 I think you mean to say that Ian GILLAN is no Ted Neeley. You're right, he isn't.

  • @USAon3 Thank God for that. Imo Ted Neeley is the one and only....

  • This is the first time I am listening to Neely's version of Gethsemane I am enlightened I now understand why a multitude prefers the '73 version

  • I hate 'sacro-disco' and things like that cause they seem insincere but this is INCREDIBLE. I'm almost sure that Ted Neeley's voice is God's voice.

  • GONE HEAD JESUS! HITTIN" THEM HIGH NOTES!

  • Why is Judas black? isn't that a little bit racist?

  • @supdudeimkris Explain how? Can you think of a person, an actor, a voice, as passionate, soulful, powerful and perfect as Carl Anderson? I sure can't. The casting choice was perfect. No ulterior message, no color lines, just a beautiful voice and an actor capable of portraying the immense pain, confusion and regret that Judas felt. Nothing more.

  • @SillyLitleGirl I'm not saying that he's not good enough, I'm 100% for him being Judas, it's just that I'm wondering a little why all the other apostles are white and Judas is black is all. I don't know maybe I'm a little messed up. No hate my friend.

  • @supdudeimkris Hehe no hate sensed, I just...I get ladywood for Anderson's voice. Mmm. <3

  • @SillyLitleGirl Haha yeah he's WAAAAAAY talented

  • @supdudeimkris

Because Carl Anderson is awesome and good for the role.

  • The vocal in the clip is Jan Gillan??? Thank...

  • 2:55 I came

  • Damn, the start is giving me shivers every time.

  • Sad.. scared.. poor guy :(

  • Lazy eye. LOL.

  • There is no real reason to introduce religion into the musical, alotugh the filmmakers have done their part of it.

  • I do not like the description,

  • im not a christian, but i just hate these comments like "Jesus wasnt actually real, prove that he was!". well, prove that he never existed. you can't be sure...i would be the happiest person in the world if i knew that such a brave and wise person like him ever lived...i want to believe, that he was real. this rotten humanity needs more jesuses.

  • This is true courage.

  • I love this song and God

  • it would be really good if he was real, but he wasnt/is. what a shame..

  • @flaurosan there's no proof, but thts y its called faith

  • @JBobomb actually there's sufficient evidence that Jesus existed and was executed, only the most extremist would deny this. In fact the only reason that it's not accepted by these people is because the name is Jesus, any other name wouldn't be questioned.

  • @zaftra hehehe i knoww i studied a course on historical and theological evidence of jesus, but it just sounded like a cool comment lmfaaoo

  • @JBobomb Doh! you!

  • "stick to fishing from now on".... haha can't help but to grin at this mention

  • i'm an atheist, but damn i love this play

  • I would gladly die to make humanity stop killing each other...

  • @jileel same here

  • 2:54 boom that scream just hit you in the face with a shovel made of awesome

  • Very, very, very sad scene ..is time for Jesus..to be very alone..:( all people aroun are sleeping..only Jesus knows..

  • JEeesus Christ....what a note.

  • I had to change my diaper after that vocal unleashing

  • Oh...I love this song. It is so emotional. And I love this video too.Ted Neeley like Jesus...Wow!!!

  • @MultiLarra1 I think of all the movies there is about Jesus, Ted Neeley is the best one I've ever seen.

  • Oh...I love this song. It is so emotional. And I love this video too.Ted Neeley like Jesus...Wow!!!

  • 2:56 my jaw dropped and stayed there on the floor

  • @klepanic63 I know what you mean. I've seen this scene since I was eleven and it still gives me goosebumps.

  • such a beautiful song, I wish I could sing it but i'm a girl. :(

  • @franzchick66 Of course you can sing it! Only, it's not the same as this. But of course, if you want, sing it! I'm a girl too, and even thought I don't know the lyrics, I want to sing this song too. But you really don't have to be only a guy to sing this. Come on! :)

  • every year im watching this musical...never get tired of it and love it very much.

  • I'm watching this on Holy Thursday night and it always makes the hair on my neck stand up. It moves me, it inspires me and it makes me so grateful to have Christ as my saviour. I have the daily joy of knowing that God lived within me and that I am never alone. As Christ said " I will be with you always, even until the end of time". How comforting is that in our sometimes very desolate world? Find Jesus and you'll never be afraid.

  • @presleyslave1 AMEN!! I do the same every Holy Thursday. No matter how many times I watch this, I still feel His love.

  • Makes one believe in the power of life wherever it comes from.

  • Makes one believe in the power of life wherever it comes from

  • 2:56

    total eargasm

  • I will drink your cup of poison.

Nail me to your cross and break me,

    Bleed me, beat me,

    Kill me.

    Take me, now!

    Before I change my mind.

    Love This Partttttt

    <3<3<3

  • Stupenda questa scena

  • The resurrection of Jesus is probably symbolic, his crucifixion is his passage to his immortality and divinity...

  • I Love this part of this great movie!!! and Ted Neeley is a great singer!!!

  • I Love this part of this great movie!!!

  • Jesus was our savior..God is our creator. This shows doubt and acceptance of his roll in our lives.

  • The loneliness in this scene resonates and haunts me; it's beautiful, at the same time, tragic. I think it goes to show that even the strongest of beings feel terror and doubt, even God.

  • It proves even Jesus argued with his parents!

  • neeley was a singer

i dont think he was really an actor

    except for this scene

  • @nickmandl actually neeley was/is a rock drummer :)

  • This is my favorite part :)

  • 6:45 ........ "Awwww man!!!!

  • The realism of this scene is that even though I was an Apostle would have walked with God in Christ & yet I would have been asleep with the rest . Looking back how shamed I would be for that transgression & yet He forgave them & gave them His Glory. He lives and so do they though they once slept .

  • Thank you for this wonderful video, your voices and all of you are very great

  • You know this movie was very well done and very accurate, and an interesting thing is that it was make by an atheist

  • The last part (God, Thy will is hard) is so full of emotion..

  • He's amazing in this film...

  • hèh_ãñÿÔNë_wÃÑNå_chåt_wÎth_mÈ_í_fèêl_sÕ_lóÑèlY_tODÁY...

  • found it its studio version by Steve Balsamo. best version believe me

  • i want the other version anyone know where can i get? i have had years ago but i dont want who is singing in that version . words are same someone other is singing. if anyone knows please pm me. ty

  • look at it people...these are lessons you need to realize...jesus didnt want to die...his disciples were not good disciples, just like many modern followers of jesus...they dont understand jesus, they dont understand god...jesus didnt cry in the garden for nothing...jesus' kingdom wasnt in this world...they hated jesus, and theyll hate you if you are like him

  • God, Thy will is hard, but You hold every card. I will drink Your cup of poison; nail me to Your cross and break me, bleed me, beat me, kill me! Take me now, before I change my mind!

That is the most touching part of the song in my opinion.

    ----

    Jake

    What's the buzz?

  • @jacobjedi2 for all the pain we recieve in this world, we will have peace with god in the end

  • @longfootbuddy Amen. It's coming really soon, so many prophecies are being fulfilled. That also means we need to work extremely hard to spread His Word with the public, so we can win as many souls as possible for Him. :)

  • @jacobjedi2 He was a man, special man but a man none the less.

  • @vetb882 He is a man, a special man, but a man nonetheless. However, He is also God.

  • @jacobjedi2 I understand where you're coming from but I believe he was raised by God, Jesus didn't raise himself from the dead. His rebirth was to show the world that no power stands above God, there is only one God, call Him what you will. Keep believing and keep praying...

  • I can't believe that Ted Neeley got the award for "The Worst Performance by an Actor as Jesus Christ". This is the most touching performance of Jesus I have ever seen.

  • @NathanielKHVids its because he portrayed a realistic jesus

  • such a good song. It's filled just with so much emotion! Love it!

  • I love this scene because it reminds me that not only was Jesus God, He was human too. He was terrified!!! Yet He died....for me.

  • @Martylovescats

The loneliness of this song haunts me,

  • @ivlfounder I completely agree. I love the fact that Neeley is so small and isnt this figure of power and calm. He is desperate and without mysticism or deities present in the film, he is to us completely alone

  • @tiemedown

IMHO he comes across as someone who has managed to live at peace for years knowing they would eventually suffer a cruel and humiliating death.

But towards the end every part of him that's human is terrified and just wants to live.

To make matters worse he's not allowed to explain fully what's going on to those around him.

The only moment of relief he gets in this whole song is when God at las does answer his question:

    Why?

  • @Martylovescats proove it!

  • @MAlgMAlg1 I don't have too; He did.

  • @Martylovescats ah,vicarious redemption.A poisonous idea if ever there was one. However, one thing we both clearly agree on is that JCS rocks and I'm pretty much as atheist as they come.

  • @etteridge It's never too late to believe. Fact can change into faith. It starts at the cross. Jesus did live, and there are Roman, non Christian records to prove it.

  • @Martylovescats I don't know what "Fact can change into faith" means.I'm sorry. However, how a human sacrifice,a human sacrifice that I feel sure (If I had been around at the time)I would have at least attempted to stop,is for my benefit in some way,is beyond me.

I'm sure you're beliefs are genuinely held but I don't respect them.I respect you (I really do) but not bronze age myths.

  • @Martylovescats - i so agree with your comment

  • this movie is abandonded on tv in my country for religious reasons!

  • @prixasoeo Oh no!!!!!!!

  • @prixasoeo That's stupidity. So you're saying Christianity is banned in your country as well? That won't stop us from trying to reach your country in His service.

  • stick to fishing from now on

  • :)) amazing music and song <3

  • he's out of time

  • Even Jesus has faith crises, kids.

  • Ted Neeley's voice just blows my mind, it is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!!

  • Best part of the whole musical!! He show's his human side,!!

  • u know, saints are not ppl with ice cube in anus as we all imagine... nor ,,with a look on their face like somebody is fckin them in the ass right now,but they dont care,, as borroughs said...

sure jesus sanged songs! we sing, now imagine jesus!

  • I wonder what music is like in heaven.

  • i sing this everytime there is something tall to stand on

  • Isn't this moment ... faced by all of us.. at least one time in our lives????

  • Im fortunate to have seen jesus as a child, ill never forget this for as long as i live and whats amazing is he actually looks similar to this in my vision except his robe were pine colour of white, also softer faced and was looking at me and reading the bible amazing vision, it was as though he could read and look around him at the same time. Beleive me or not, isnt the debate im just shareing what i seen.

  • OMG jesus was black.. makes sense ;)

  • Schön, daß man Jesus auch mal singen hört................eine sehr beeindruckende Stimme...........ist es wert zu warten..........

  • SÅ MÄKTIGT, VILKEN SÅNGARE...VEM ÄR HAN???? <3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3

  • @Whoever The greatest trick Jesus did was convince people he was just a man. No, wait, that was no trick. That was all he could do, without lying that is. He was just a dude. The whole Messiah story had been told by other older cultures many times before. Horus in Egypt, for one - A man/god born of a virgin on the 25th of December. The Catholics didn't clone the story, they adapted it to their monotheistic system. So keep using your God given mind and eyes and ears to block out reality...

  • ummm i dont think jesus has a lazy eye, but it may be just me...just saying

  • You people do realize that Jesus had an excellent representation and promotion team backing him up, a top notch crew writing and rewriting his material, and excellent editors cleaning up the rough stuff, even hundreds of years after his last show? You do, right? It's all hype. You "believers" are the reason stupid, lame Hollywood is making so much easy $ selling so much pure crap nonsense. And so is the Vatican, you childish, gullible twits. Why did God give me vestigial tail? To make me evil?

  • @KingKook How rude! Does it really matter why Jesus still draws crowds if the message gives people hope? If it eases their minds and souls? I am not a conservative Christian but someone who looks for peace and serenity. Jesus message came from the Great One and through so many others. His story is the one that has been repeated and is so compelling that is why it's lasted over 2,000 years.

  • @aaauuuummm AMEN!!!!!

  • That's what I sing and yell when life gets too tough on me. First I get drunk as boot then start singing and finish crying. ALLRIGHT!!!! I''LL DIE!!! JUST WATCH ME DIE!!! SEE HOW I DIE!!!!

  • You go Jesus. How sad He had to go through that. It should make one think. Jesus I am sorry for my sins.
