True, there are hardliners that abandoned logic (against the teachings of Islam at that), and those are probably worse for Islam than people who reject it. The Muslim world is generally going through a historical low, but the teachings are noble and promote coexistence, freedom and equality. 'Dhimmis' are not abused and raped, and the matter of war prisoners is a whole different story. e.g. Jews lived peacefully with Muslims even after some of them were kicked out for betrayal, and had their rights and their own courts. It is difficult to persuade Muslims that Islam is a religion of peace because they believe that peaceful verses have been abrogated (naskh) by violent verses. I believe that the law of necessity is a more convincing argument - Muslims are weak and cannot defeat tiny Israel because they reject the innovative, tolerant, Western mindset.

This happened throughout all the prophets and stopped when Muhammad (peace be upon him) passed away. So it basically took decades to be done. With that said... Contradictions(like all religions)exist, therefore, you should focus what has been said later on in the Quran rather than what has been said before. (Only in cases of contradictions. Hope i helped. 'Dhimmis' are not abused and raped, and the matter of war prisoners is a whole different story. e.g. Jews lived peacefully with Muslims even after some of them were kicked out for betrayal, and had their rights and their own courts. They had their full rights and Muslims who mistreated them were punished fairly.

How can people believe that a man who married an underage, pre-puberty girl which not even in the Hebrew bible was approved, that he was from God? Not just that, a 50 year old man at that!
