  • @ClassicalJoeNo1 Hello Joe,Great Interpretation.I am currently learning this piece..I have difficulty playing the piece entirely in staccato when it comes to picking the open string notes..any suggestions as to what i can do?

  • @likasumebody I think that we need to mute the notes along a scale to make it clean & clear. I have a video on my blog to demonstrate the difference between muting and without muting while playing this scale.

Click the link under this video to go to my blog. Then type in "muting" to search for the post. I hope that will help.

    Thanks for watching!

    Joe

  • wowww!! you've got a great sound! very good!

  • @chiara1998ilove Thanks.

  • Hold the basess, it will sound better

  • cooooooooooooooooooooooll

  • i know but it sound cool try it for fun :D

  • I love the fact that we both practice the same kind of music so when I need help with part of a song I can look you up on you tube an hear how it goes. Thanks to you I've learned like 7 new songs on the guitar. THANK YOU!!

  • @JoseMaximoVilla Thanks for watching.

Do you mean 7 Carcassi studies?

  • @ClassicalJoeNo1 Yeah. By the way, do you have the sheet music for your quartet version of the entertainer? I loved how you played it... Thanks Again

  • considering the level of the study, with several changes of position your're very advanced in learning guitar

I hope to reach your finger-indipendence

    good!

  • Clean and perfectly played :)

What is your Guitar ? It sounds really great.

  • @63266 Thanks.

You can find my guitar info. on my blog,

    joeno1.net/wp/stephan-schlemper-2003/

  • try holding the basess

  • @BryanGrlory But the base notes in the scale measures are only quarter notes.

  • bass*

    but yes, you're right.

  • its true there are quarter notes, but it sound more fuller holding them, maybe u can try it for fun.

and im sorry for what i said in the other comment, now that i read it again, i realize it was kinda rude of me.

  • This is a delightful study, and so well played. Now.....if we could just see more of you.......

  • Yo man awesome job...5 stars!!!!!!I subbed ur channel great!!!!!!!!!

  • Remarkable record, dear Joe! You could not tell, you use what microphone?

  • so, did you went outside after recording the video :P?

    just kidding, really nice playing!

  • Excellent playing! I'm currently learning this piece but one thing that confuses me is that my sheet music has straight 1/8th notes, and starting on the 29th measure, only the bass note is a 1/2 note, but it sounds like you're letting all the 1/8th notes ring past their duration- holding out each chord. Which is correct?

  • hi maestro :-)

i keep on practicing this piece but it'll take centuries before i can play - if ever - like you! anyway, i always enjoy listening at you!

  • I am learning it too. Have you tried taking small bits, such as four measures at a time and practicing with the metronome? I start slowly, and build up to allegro. It has been working for me.

  • goodddddddd

  • Very nice. Love Carcassi.

  • more fastening, but really really good!

  • very nice performing, I like the way you play. I also have made some recording of carcassi but I need more practice to avoid some mistakes. Check my channel if you like, your precious suggestion would be very appreciated

  • sounds realy nice! are you reading the music as you play or did you memorize it ?

  • I think just memorize for the most part. Sight reading this is really challenging even if it is in c major.

  • where are you from man?

  • Great job!!! But I think you have to keep bass note ringing (C bass in the first mesure)

  • i am learning this peice i listen you play many time you are brilliant

  • great job!

  • Joe are those rest strokes? Spruce guitar? What tension strings? thanks

  • Perfect.

  • excelente¡¡¡¡¡

  • Good job, Joe, congratulations.

  • Wonderful!

  • Az összes közül ez lett a legjobb! No.1. -> number one! :) Gratulálok!

  • Végül kitaláljuk, milyen nyelven van ez:)

    Köszönöm.

  • Very nice! Great work. I'm currently attempting this piece. Only thing I would really change is the last few chords, I prefer to hold onto them for longer, but its players preference I guess.

  • Thanks.

I prefer to follow the written down notes if I can understand them.

  • are those rest strokes or free strokes?

    Thanks :)

  • free!

  • You have alot of talent. All the comments about phrasing and such, from more seasoned guitarists, juat be aware and practe to how you want to play.

  • Thanks. I'll pay attention:)

  • you need to phrase , and respect the dynamics like "mf,f,pf " etc.

    your guitar is nice

  • Thank you so much for your advice! I do need to reconstruct the whole piece.

  • Joe, appreciate the music very much. I play this one as well. Nice to hear your take of it.

  • Thanks. I'll check your version out later:)

  • thats impressive.

  • Thanks.

  • Another impressive one, Joe!

    Simply beautiful!

  • Thanks Julie!

  • Joe this is a very easy piece for you :) did you played for fun?

  • You are right! It's for fun. But it's not a easy one for me at all:)

  • What can I say, another great one from MagicalJoe. Funny, I'm like Liran, gave up after a while, toughy this! 5*!

    Regards,

  • Thanks for comment & stars!

You should pick it up. It's an interesting piece.

  • Hi Joe. You inspired me. I went to guitar shop and picked up Martinez for £200 and now I'm trying to learn this piece. It's blood and sweat indeed, I never had a teacher. Your play is very clean. I always hit some ghost notes. I'm just wondering how long have you been playing and how many hours a week? Do you have a teacher? You seem to have a very good technique. How old are you? You look 15-16... Keep on good work dude, I learned a lot from the video!

    Thanks

  • Thanks and glad that you like it.

This is not a easy piece of study for me. I will replay it again. It could be better.

I understand the "ghost notes". It's always a challenge for the right hand of every guitar learner. It's all about control of fingers. There is a systematic way to practice. I should have said "many ways". But I simplify most of the others as one because it could explain them all. And I believe every one who has regular fingers & nails can do it well, better than this video.

  • I started to play the guitar long ago, long enough to lost count. But I don't play it regularly. I may say about half an hour a day in average.

  • I have an excellent teacher right after my 1st year self-teaching. He helps me a lot. Then I don't have to struggle with all kinds of "strange difficulties". It doesn't mean I haven't faced any difficulty at all. In fact, I have similar technique problems like others. A good teacher helps me to understand it well. I'm self-teaching now. My age is more than double of your guess.

  • Hi Joe!

Great playing! This is not so easy to play well but you did!

    Great!

    Per-Olov

  • Thanks! Should I address you "Peo" or "Per-Olov"? You've changed your signiture...

I just barely made it. My scale was not that even.

  • Hi Joe! I think you did great!!

Please call me Per-Olov or just Per. Peo isn't that good in Spanish and on my CD it had to be Per-Olov...

    Keep playing!

    Per-Olov

  • I love this etude! it's very hard and you played it perfectly! I attempted this a few monthes ago but gave up, might try again someday!

    Take care,

    Liran

  • Yes, this piece is no ease. Honestly, I still need to improve even at this speed.

  • wow Joe i never heard that one from Carcassi its such a beautiful etude with 2 voices and very melodic, thanks for playing beautifuly as well , cheers.

  • You should hear this one more because it's the very 1st one of Op.60:)

  • Hello Joe

I appreciate a lot your kind of play, so clean, very good sound...Congratulations !
