It is worth making tags e.x if you type in on Youtube like Awesome sauce it willl appear the one that has Awesome, sauce, epic this is why you do that!!!
You really work for google?? LOL this suggestion was horrible google loves tags on posts and in fact they index tags quicker then categories. Bad advice
@romeo0830 I agree, I have been positioning some keywords only using tags. In wordpress, for example, when you use the All in on SEO pack, you can set up the plugin to let index tag pages, since then, I have differente tag pages indexed and in good positions.
Can tags help for search engine rank? For example, if I write an article on Google seo but also tag it bing seo, yahoo seo, etc, wont that help someone searching for bing seo find my article where they wouldnt normally have found it if I didnt tag it and didnt reference it in my article??
As a user I adore tags, that's how I hang around on sites. So the intention may not always be for SEO purposes that popular sites add a ton of tags, they may just be providing their readers a convenient way to access their content.

I wouldn't know about SEO purposes since that's not really my point of interest but I think that tags CAN be useful if you have a particularly large blog with many posts and you don't want to include a post in more than one category(since probably you wanna limit yourself to only one post per category, which is what I would do), then you add a few tags so that readers can get more results when searching for a particular tag. That's the only useful 'feature' I see for tags.
I disagree a bit. If you're tags are marked with rel="tag" for technorati or what not, it could help drive *some* traffic to your site, though that's not exactly SEO, it's more link building. Your ROI for that will depend on a lot of factors.
Correct - for internal navigation tags are really good to have (related posts). On the other hand I dont't see users clicking on tags to find content too often...OK, seldomly...OKOK, never. Period. ;-)

Do you recommend finding one article per content link page? or multiple? ie...?
if you were to find multiple cinnamon coffee cake recipe articles,
would you stack them all on that one page or would you build out multiple pages for all of the articles?

Matt: But on a packed video site like Youtube tags must be an essential part of what the video is about?

Somebody wouldn't be interested in hearing about your cats? That's crazy talk.

Use cats and tags for internal navigation on WP CMS site. On my blog however I use tags to help my reads find relevant content.

I do whatever Matt Cutts does. If he doesn't use tags, I will not.

Also, for SEO it's better to just use one category per post.

tags are for the benefit of the user mainly

What about words that relate to the content but do not show on the article body, like a post with a video on it. In this case does tags help?
Very good and helpful video. Great question, Great Answer.
