hi im 14 and the doctors think i have acoustic nueroma... im so scared, seeing all these videos and reading up on it about people having face paralysis... if theres anything you can tell me about it pleasee do thanks
hi. i have also had a acoustic neuroma which was operated on in jan 2000, i was 23 then. i just wanted to say looking at your video i would never have guessed you had facial palsy you looked so much better than i did at that stage. take care.
Not to scare u poknatcmat, I just had a acoustic neuroma 2.3 cm removed. I was told i would not lose any hearing in my ear. Well i lost all my hearing in my right hear, and some in my left ear. It is very scary to hear u have a tumor in ur head.
I just had my MRI last night coz m ENT doctor thought that I have a neuroma. Anyways, knowing the details of the disease I am not scared about it, coz it is a benign cancer. It is not the end of the world to me...there are still remedies for this (if my doctor is right)...I'll prepare myself for this. By the way, u look great! The good thing is, I still ahven't lose my hearing..I have the tinitus here and there and numbing of face (just a lil)not all the time. I will know on Monday!
@annathefootdoc I know that "benign cancer " means non cancerous cyst or cell. I am just saying that, if I will have this disease I will not be scare. U guys dealt w/ it pretty good (alhtough I know it's not easy) but there's hope. I'm not sure if I make myself clear or I make u confuse. Have a good day anyway.
Hey, just to say u look great!!! i also had an acoustic neuroma - i had it removed May 07 and although i did lose my hearing on my left side, i had no palsy and was back to my mad girly self pretty soon - suffice to say, 3 months after surgery i went to jamaica on holiday and six months after surgery was back thai boxing! I hope u take the experience as something that makes u a stronger person - if u can face this u can face anything - xxxxxx
You look great. This gives me a bit of hope after seeing how bad it can be,I guess it depends allot on the kung fu of the surgeon. I've just found out I have a 1.1cm si - 2.1cm in length - 1.1cm ap acoustic neuroma on my left side & I'm pretty freaked out.

you know the surgery itself causes the hearing loss because it involves removing the nerves that the tumor is near .

@poknatcmat
My friend, that is an oxymoron. Benign cancer??? Benign means not cancerous.
