remember when Seb Fontaine dropped this at the Ministry in a packed bar room and the place totally went berserk - cool DJ that he was, he just raised one eye brow. What a room that was back in the day ...
First up - it's TINMAN, not Tinmen - Most of your comments are factually wrong about samples etc.. the original and FFRR released version never had sampled guitars on them. No 'Rollo Goes' whatever, the bells where an original melody and not stolen from anyone, but yes, the 2 Bad Mice riff was replayed (again not sampled) and finished off with a secondary melody. For the REAL story, go to the original creator's DJ/Production website SEARCH 'Tinman', 18 Strings True Story
So much sampling going on in this record with the "work dat sucker to death" voice over, + what sounds like wedding bells and mustnt forget the infamous Nirvana Guitar riff of Smells like teenage socks"
this song will forever remind me of being on a day trip with my dad and my aunt and cousin, who was just as bored as me no doubt, I remember thinking that this was an awesome tune!!!!!
I remember hearing this in the cafe part of Paradise in Islington when from the housey room we heard the guitar riff. My first thought was "a guitar, in a night club" my second thought was let's get on the dance floor .
I think this is the original version, the one which first came out in the clubs. The one which eventually got released to the charts had to change the riff cos Nirvana's record company wouldn't allow it. This was HUGE at Up Yer Ronson in Leeds (Jeremy Healey).
Jeremy healy and Brandon block = total madness! I was at uni in leeds from 93 to 96 and it was just an awesome time to be out clubbing. great pills, great people, great tunes. ronsons, basics and vague were my whole life for about 3 years!
Ok this was a great dance song in the club that I hung out in from the age of 21 through 24. I would always request Front 242 Headhunter, this song, then follow up with Nitzer Ebb Join In The Chant. Great times! Expended lots of misplaced aggression at that club.. PEACE
This was huge in 1994. It did well in the music charts in a lot of countries. It samples Nirvana - Smells Like Teen Spirit, 2 Bad Mice - Bombscare & Rollo Goes Camping - Get Off Your High Horse.

I'd like to be able to get this version of the song. The changed the riff on the single. too similar to the "teen spirit" riff
