I saw the film yesterday at the Warsaw Film Festival. I must say I am quite disappointed. Despite very good acting the film is way to long and tiresome for the viewer. The songs sung in the movie would be better suited for "Loveboat" - music and lyrics are kitschy and totally uninventive, lyrics sounds as if it was written in a rush, there are numerous repetitions of the same trivial phrases in the songs. Without the songs the movie would be better.

I have always admired Honore, but i must admit his work is getting tiresome. I loved La Belle Personne, L'amour Chansons and Ma Mere, but I'm getting extremely bored with the same cast, the same mundane story lines. its all the same and its getting to be quite dissatisfying even just watching the trailer. I dont even have any interest in seeing this movie.

Have plans been made for an American release? IFC have handled most of Honore's recent films (except Man at Bath, which yet does not have an American distributor) so hopefully IFC will pick this up.
