I have the same model gs300. I have 8000k HID's for the low beams and I just installed xenon white fog's and white daytime running lights. Are ur dayrun lights stock, or did you change them out for something different?
My hid low beams are stock... 4300k...the night city lights are Piaa ion yellow (the small bulb that is on at night)...the High beam/drl light is silverstar ultra...and of course 3000k in the stock yellow fog lamp...Did you have stock halogen?
hmm....hey how come on my civic when i put hids on for my fogs and i use a relay switch, about 95% of the time only one turns on. I have to keep smacking the relay switch on and off fast to trigger both to turn on...any ideas?
Are you using bullet connectors? I was to connect the hot to the ballast, I'd sometimes have to wiggle it. Then I just soldered the connections, problem solved.
aw man..dont have the tool to do that and if i take that chance of soldering it together and if that doesnt work....i was thinking about cutting down on the length of the harness wires for the fog lights cause they are pretty long....and what are bullet connectors...?
I had the same problem for my head lights on my civic. Ether try finding a better ground or ground it right to the battery (-) side of course. DONT switch on off fast it will mess up the ballast. Turn it off for like 5 sec then turn on. And repeat that till it works.
yeah turning it on and off really fast does mess up the ballast and bulbs but i was freakn mad..it was a good slim kit too. so maybe connecting it straight to the battery 2 negative wires from the bulbs only or the ballast? So i would have to extend the wires then....
Just the negative from the ballast. I know how you felt I go mad and did on off fast too. My friend blew his ballast doing that so that why I stop doing it haha.
alright sweet ill try is man...it works for sho? never really messes up on you like before? both turns on equally? i messed mine up that when it powers up..it goes bright..then when fully charged it releases power and gets dull..lol
what you are describing definately sounds like a bad ground. and also the reason it gets dull over time is also probably due to a bad ground as well. so try grounding it to the battery that should solve it.
By "going dull over time" do you mean by the hid bulb? cuz that happened to me twice. I have the 6k bi-xenon. and my left bulb was a dull greenish color while my right side was bright white.

your daylights how do you turn them on? the little bulb that is off to the side in your high beam assembly. i know it must sound dumb but i can't figure it it. the bulbs are there though. i have a 1998 Lexus Gs300 base model
The daytime running lights are the high beams at 20% power. That little bulb you see is your "city light". That light is what lights up the high beam housing when you turn your lights on.
thats damn ill. is that factory HID or are those after markets. If they are after market which brand did you get cuz i wanna put those on my infiniti for sure.
I have a few questions...
Did you buy a kit, if so which brand did you choose?
Also, if you bought a kit did you change the reflectors in your headlights?
Installation? Easy/hard?
