trust me I ahve 11 cats thats a territory battle. The cats are giving warning to eachother. If it was heat teh female would be rolling on teh ground then she'd look up at the tom like "dude," hope taht helps

Nah that would be my mom lol. We live on an acre so we've had cats come from the feilds around our house. and it's down to about 7 or 8 now. We had two litters of kittens, same mom not far from eachother in the litters... so yeah that why we had so many.

@darkstarmagicclan I've been wondering what all the commotion was about. If I understand correctly, mating cats don't make that much noise. I doest seem that the territoriality may have something to do with the mating season. Do they tend to go together ?

Yes and no. Two males will fight over territory sometimes for the females, but commonly it's just a territory warning. This seems to just be such.

This is definitely a territory battle, NOT mating. The submissive stance is the only way you can leave a battle without getting "ucked up". Enjoy folks!!!!

WRONG....They are ready to kick each others asses. Cats in heat don't do that...look at the flattened ears and tail position.

They COULD be in heat. But I think cats in heat make diferent noises. The noise is more softer than this.
