The pastels are not sold uncovered. It has a lid that opens up and lays flat. You just can't see it in the video.
There are sealants you can you to spray on your project that keep it from rubbing off. There are some on the internet or at the craft stores, i.e. Michaels and Hobby Lobby.
I am planning on stenciling something with soft pastels, I need to know, will this EVER completly dry so it won't rub off once it's stenciled on? I just ask b/c I notice it is sold UNCOVERED, so was wondering what keeps it from drying in the container.
I have been trying to find out what liquid is in the blender pen, but I haven't been able to. I did find out that they are acid free, xylene free, nontoxic. I hope that helps.
I got the set from Stampin' Up. They have an updated one now with their new colors. I have an online Stampin' Up store, if you would like to place an order. Just contact me. Thanks!
The chalks I used are called Stampin' Pastels from Stampin' Up! I used a blender pen to pick up the chalk and apply it to the image. Some people put a spray over top of their work to ensure it doesn't rub off. I don't do that and don't seem to have a problem with the image after I am done. Hope this helps.
Netty - I made sure I didn't use a lot of water when I did the background, so the chalk was not thinned much. The aqua painter is a quicker way to cover the background than the blender pen. Just don't use a lot of water. I didn't squeeze the brush while using it. I just let the water seep into the bristles. I hope this helps.
Thanks for the video - I love the technique, and I hope you feel better soon, but I was wondering if the water from the aqua painter effected the chalk at all?
Great card I love the technique wished I had seen this before this past monday i just went out and bought watercolor pencils and watercolor paper. Did you stamp your image on watercolor paper?

I stamped my image on regular white cardstock. I think it would work better on watercolor paper. Mine wanted to pill just a little.
