  • check out his teacher, MIKIO FUJIOKA

  • @meowtrox his teacher was kelly simonz.

  • Takayoshi is definately my favourite out of the japanese guitarists

  • I took my strat-copy and reshaped the headstock like his and put a ESP logo on it!

  • still after the 15th time watching i cant figure out what the fuck is happening at 1:42

  • super fast x super clean = dirty underwear

  • @DaKoolKat so your telling you jizzed from a guy ;) lol

  • godlike solo right there

  • Oh my god Oo

  • i guess the good playing over powers the gay outfit

  • That solo was inhuman...

  • @Bentonmaru He's a fantastic guitar player, but this solo wasn't inhuman or even close to the kinds of solos most inexerpienced players consider inhuman. <3

  • @TheTrollMage and which solo is inhuman then ??

  • @Bentonmaru then I don't know what would you say about shawn lane.

  • AKBの歌に似てる。

  • could anybody tab that fucking solo and upload to ultimate guitar.com ??

  • anyone know the amps in the background?

  • @grumpy165 Hughes & Kettner

  • I dont know why I cant play with my thumb hooked around the neck like that. I do that and my dexterity goes out the window. I NEED my thumb on the back of the neck almost all the time :(

  • @MapleLeafAce Notice he's not playing any large stretches. For larger stretches you need a more suitable fretting hand position :)

  • shit, i want to learn hybrid picking

  • That picking above the nut is very AWESOME. What a cool sound.

  • Grandma! I found our tablecloth!

jk, An amazing guitarist, a great guitar an great tone.

  • those chording thing is boring but that solo sounds cool...nice picking btw

  • how the hell does he get that sharp nose on on the head stock of the guitar i have never seen anyone do that ive tryed it doesnt work

  • @fightbox4 its really the digital organ in the background :3 i was amazed aswell when i first saw that, but alas, eveyrbody has something like that, eg. steve vais sustainer demo, paul gilberts ass sweeping

  • @monochromeEARTH ah ok its amazing very amazing

  • great :)

  • Incredible.

  • am i the only one who noticed the fast forwarding in the begining of the solo??? i liked it till i saw the fast forwarding part :(

  • @musikkkkk i noticed that too.....hmm, is it fast forwarding though?

you know, playing that fast isn't impossible...

  • @jordan7792 i know it isnt impossible cuz i have seen it on kiko loureiro in "dream circle" but you can totally tell when someone is playing it for real... check out dream circle and you can clearly see its not fast forward

  • @musikkkkk i checked the video you told me about, well that is not really fast, it doesn't need speeding up at all, but now that i checked this one twice, if you look carefully at his leg, while he is playing the solo, you'll notice that he is moving it according to the rythm, so it must be real time......

after all, i can't see the point why a japanese guy should speed up his solo...

    tell me what you think;)

  • @musikkkkk it`s not fast fowarding, because the tempo he starts to play in the solo part is in the same tempo than the first and last part of the song.

In solo part he starts to play quarters in that tempo.

  • @musikkkkk That's not fast forwarding. He's picking sextuplets.

  • no word can describe that epic solo..........

  • can I have one of these heads for free...please?

  • F**K this guy has the perfect right hand

  • @KillerBeBop94 Not objectively. His right hand does deliver blazing speeds at minimal efforts, which I am utterly amazed by, but I personally am not a fan of the tone one achieves from circle picking (picking with thumb/forefinger movement ) as opposed to wrist picking.

  • @eveningninja He is not just good at circle picking, but also at chicken picking and very good in sweeping. Conclusion : lot of practice. Im sure you are agree with this ;) and he is very young for this amazing level ( sorry for my english im french )

  • @KillerBeBop94 I suppose I was responding in a mindset that was caused by people's amazement of his circle picking during the solo. But yes, you're right, he is amazing with those other right hand techniques as well. And your English is perfect, no worries =D

  • @eveningninja Thank you =)

  • the speed soloing is just malicious!!! its got that nice Chris Impellitteri touch to it

  • Phenominal and inspiring.

  • its an esp copy of a malmsteen strat

  • Wow.. there was a part that sounded like the solo from the song "Burn" by Deep Purple! :)

  • @KusabiJr nice ear :) actually DP is one of the biggest bands in japan, they have heavy influence in there

  • thats some crazy alternate picking

  • herro, no soup for you only shitty chicken

  • The best solo of takayoshi!

  • The beginning of the solo is a pure power explosion O.o

  • "short" hairs ?!?

xD He was very young, but really amazing ! ( As usual )

  • @kar98ksniper No one cares. The only question I have is why watch it to the end if you didn't like it and then comment about it.

  • Not the kind of music I would listen to, but you gotta respect the talent.

  • Ragazzi...che tecnica !!!

  • @MrNawr souds like channel 3a of the Triamp+overdrive or boostpedal and a box with v30 speakers

  • Yngwie was born in 1963. Is it really that hard to use google?

  • 1:11 deep purples burn.. you know I also heard another song that final fantasy metal band that also sounded like that. I guess blackmore is popular in japan.

  • The black mages....

  • "40 something" could be anything between 40 - 49

  • that final lick at the very end seemed kind of out of place. it wasnt long enough or something.

  • holy shit, what an amazing well rounded player :O

  • Does anyone recognize those amp heads? His tone is amazing.

  • This is Hugues and Kettner amps, maybe the triamp MK II head, but I'm not shure.

  • I dont think that's what he's using. the Triamp has so little distortion. It sounds liek a marshall to me.

  • Unless He's using pedals.

  • i don't see him in the neo metal corner, he has a lot of jazzy, bluesy and some new age things in his music, and who of you heard any jazz riff in malmsteens or others music... neo is more like classic..

  • Heros get remembered,

    but Legends never die!!

  • now, what part of all that, are you not getting?

Takayoshi is a hero because he is very good.

Yngwie is a legend because he was one of the first to play like that.

  • In the 80's, when Yngwie was a young man and Takayoshi was just a little boy. This neo classical metal was very new, it was Yngwie who not only made this style famous along with Jason Becker, but he also lead the way through the 80's and 90's.

25 years later, we have this guy (Tak) who has not invented a new style of playing, but is using the same kind of style and off course the same guitars (ESP).

    NO Yngwie!

    NO Takayoshi!

  • and in the 70's a man named ritchie blackmore hit the scene and started to incorporate classical playing into is guitar while yngwie was still in diapers. No Blackmore

    No Yngwie

  • let me improve on that list -

    no beethoven

    no blackmore

    no Yngwie

no japanese neo classical players at all!

  • i know yngwie was still in diapers tho lol XD it was a joke sir

  • before you call someone a thick bastard please learn to subtract. If Yngwie is 40 something and right now it is 2010 he was born in the 70s so he was probably about 4 when this blackmore incorporated classical playing to his music so Yngwie wasn't a fucking teenager you fucking retard

  • you fucking tard please learn to subtract 2010-40=1970 this means Yngwie was still a fucking child not a teenager

  • largy better experience than syu

  • I hear malmsteen and some paul gilbert in his playing

  • Really? lol i hear japanease dragonball Z music =P

  • lol, that too!!

  • I love his creative display of thinking on a guitar.

  • wow the solo is epicly crazy and it looks insanely hard

  • is he in a bandd ? ... what's the namee ?

  • @juanpablo0812 he used to play with Cross Hard but afaik they're split up... He has a solo project though called Takayoshi Ohmura

  • Takayoshi Ohmura with Doogie White, search that up on youtube

  • Takayoshi in the band called Crosshard

  • Hey Fluffy Pop,,,,,i hear ya,,,,,all the greatest music ever to exist will never be mainstream.....Simply bc the majority of the human race are f-ing idiots.....etc. etc. etc.

  • yeah pretty much. all the greatest musics in the world will always be underground :( lol and now that you mentioned, yes the majority of the world has horrible taste in music. for the heck of it you might wanna check out the video "america is not stupid." it just proves how stupid america really is. btw im american so im not being prejudice.

  • So true.. Like this guy, he's great. And it's always like, HE STOLE FROM MALMSTEEN. I mean common, shut up about the fatso

  • So What! if Yngwie is a bit chubby, hes still the dude who created this style, have some respect! I bet even Tak would hate you for saying that about his idol.

  • Created? LMFAO. Yeah, he created all metal and all classic music too.

  • As if i meant he created all that, don't be a stupid bastard!

and your talking about european classical music, they never seem to play oriental classical music

    Please tell me why?

  • Because they don't have any Bach's or Beethoven's?

  • I don't really want to make a big thing out of this, lets just say they are both great.END OF....

  • @Fluffypopcicle not that this is great music but. its impressive technique in rocknroll

  • @Fluffypopcicle to the rest of the world maybe but great guitarists like Takayoshi, Syu etc are very famous and well off in japan. They do fine and get all the good recognitions for their hard work =3

Even Visual Kei and other metal bands mainly respect good guitar talent as well as the ppl that listen to it =)

You dont have to worry about these great guitarists getting attention but you are right about majority of the world =P

  • @Trezveil the words radio and disney ugghhh makes me shutter lol thats gotta suck i mena yea there are a handle full of good muscicians on the radio and mainstrem but yea as i said a handle full

  • @Fluffypopcicle dude the majority of the world listen too noizes coming out of a box mainstreem music isnt even music =]

  • @crisDAwog

exactly. i unfortunately have to sit through radio disney every time i go in my mom's car with my little sister in it. it's ear torture. believe it or not though, occasionally there will be a decent song that is on in that channel. most of it sucks though.

  • @Fluffypopcicle a long time ago one person told me that if i see a man driving on the wrong side of the street there's nothing to worry about, but if i see all the others driving on the other side it means that i'm the one who is wrong....so it's incorrect to say that all the people are stupid because they don't listen the "good" music, they are simply normal...we are abnormal and i'm full of proud because of this!

  • @MrDrig0

that's different. what a horrible analogy. driving on the wrong side of road leads to death and there are rules you must follow when driving. music is nothing like that. i also never called them stupid, i just said they have horrible taste in music. there are ways to see if music is good or not. pop music sucks. it can be proven, easily.

  • @Fluffypopcicle

    It's all about opinions...

  • love the riff... very 80s!

  • Such accuracy and precision, it's sick!

    I love this guy!

  • Just amazing, sick tone too - love those scalloped fretboards!

  • this is acually the first song ive ever heard of him. thought he was pretty average..... until the solo came in. the solo itsself exploded my right testicle O_o

  • If you value your left nut, don't watch the video for "The Cataclysm."

  • @sdmf1982 wow thanks for the warning. maybe shoulda said that BEFORE i watched the video O_o

  • 1:41 to end of solo :D

  • this guy and kiko louriero are amazing. they need to be more popular, they deserve it.

  • Yes I AGREE!!!! takayoshi and kiko are some of the best guitarists who ever lived.

  • yeah its a shame theyre so underground. they deserve to be up there with guitarist like paul gilbert, buckethead, joe satriani, and steve vai.

  • I agree with Exoskeletaljunction : Heard much of that before.

But it's still good! Good job boy!

  • He has chops but ain't anything I've never heard before.

  • Yes, i mean some parts of the song

  • Comment removed

  • This songs seems to be inspired by Deep Purples Song "Burn", great, 5 Stars.

  • ye i agrea... alot of concepts were taken from deep purple in the rock/neoclassical/shred world

  • ya ur right... sounds like the same riffs of burn...

    nice song anyway..

    \m/

  • Is it a scalloped fingerboard? It sometimes looks as if...imes

  • semi scalloped i believe

  • you know its more likely for guitarists to show any type of emotion during stage, thats what all the prepping, getting pumped is for. yet you realize even for guitarists shredding is hard to do especially on stage. so thanks a lot, you not only disgrace my race but guitarists in the most ignorant fashion. fuck you.

  • stop using your other accounts to up your comment ratings.

  • I only have 1 account .__.

  • its probably more then that

  • That neck scraping is the sickest shit ive ever seen lol this dude fuckin rocks it

  • anyone have any idea how to pull that off? ive tried doin it the way it looks like he is, but its not workin out for me

  • each amp could have different settings and responses on them, plus the visual aspect just makes it look cool and professional.

  • well, its the simple question of you wanna play it loud or do you wanna play it LOUD ya know?

  • Does he really need all those amps behind him? I think one of those stacks would be good enough...

  • I don't think he's using EVERYONE of them. They're there for advertisement mainly.

  • hooooly shit!!!lol

    amazing!!

  • Epic Neck Scraping

  • Nice chord work , in the class of legendary Akira Takasaki.

  • i dont see it but oh well

  • Dont you feel an deep purple burn in this music?

the exercises parts are so similar....

    caution with the copies.....
