@toffeehoff Why Sophie is that you? Welcome to YT, and thanks for watching! Oh yes, those guys are nutty indeed- but in a way that's good for the world.
@sherbetgirl Yep, Sue, it definitely helps to have a zany side in India, and makes me think of that office saying "You don't have to be crazy to work here but it helps."
@marymo75 My thoughts exactly, Mary. As much as I love a good road trip, there are certainly safer things you could do it in. Like just about anything else on wheels... but then I guess the danger's also half the fun. Respect to these guys!
@ashokscape Ah, observant as ever, Ashok. Shyam was saying the next Bond film will be partially shot in India so perhaps some deadly rickshaw is on the cards... dropping oil slicks behind it and putting up smoke screens to confuse pursuing bad guys with no modifications at all by Q required!
Oh YEAH!!! There are these kinda rickshaws here in Mazatlan(tourist and port city), although here they're known by the locals as "pulmonias"(pneumonias), probably statin' that if the passengers don't die from the excess speed of this rickshaws, they'll catch a cold spell and die of pneumonia,...hehe...COOL Vid good buddy, thumbs up to ya and thankin' ya for the AWESOME share!! =D
@qualqui Great story there, qualqui! And here was me thinking they were just an Asian thing. They call 'em "tuk-tuks" over in Thailand and plain old "autos" over here, but I'll start using "pulmonias" instead... Perhaps we can start a new Indian trend?
@theloathlydaddy So glad somebody noticed that, Steve! We stopped again at the location just to get that McDonalds sign: it was the only distinctively Tamil thing in sight. Take that away, and you'd barely know I'd left Australia!
@aduziproductions The interesting thing is here in India a rickshaw's not much cheaper than a car! But with those teeny-weeny engines they sure are miserly on fuel so you may be right that they're the future of transportation for Westerners too...
@EmCSpiteri1 And to add injury to insult, my microphone's windsock blew away! We'll have to remember to carry radio mics from now on. Thanks for watching, Eric!
that last comment was about subbing to a new channel - thought you must have made a new channel for the trip - anyway I don't need to re-sub now lol...but like you're having a great time!
@GeoffJennyOliver Eh, I appreciate your impulse to subcsribe in any case, Geoff. It's never easy to get a new one as you know. I added that "sub my channel" line to the video text in case it got picked up and embedded on another site. Last time that happened, they lifted the text beneath it which didnt have my channel ident, and as a result it showed links to everyone but me!
<3 That is just to cool the rickshaws, the 2,000 Meter challenge and the people who were making it happen... :-) <3 People making a differance in the World where ever they go. <3 Thanks for the share "VW" The pleasure was ALL mine...)
@stpeter023 Why thanks for your blessing! And for being the first to comment. Yes, you're right: there are a lot of problems in India but there's even more goodwill, so you can see things getting better every year.

@davidsquall351 Doesn't it just? While city driving here is horrid, driving between the cities is really quite scenic and fun.

Cool video, VW, Thanks for posting. Rickshaws could be the answer to our transportation and fuel consumption needs. Keep in touch and keep posting.
