I've always wondered why non-symphonic metal bands want to play with an orchestra. It seems kind of silly and point-missing in a way.

Though it might simply be a case of them wanting to make their music as grandiose as humanly possible. :)

Y bueno, pero buscaron evolucionar... Pensá que ya no tiene mas 22 añitos, ahora tiene 34 y está para algo mas tranqui. Yo tb extraño los temas de Mandylion o NT Birds, pero la onda nueva no creo que sea mas comercial que la de los noventa. Nadie hace discos por desinteres y fijate las letras tienen la misma tematica. Cambiaron los musicos tb. Saludos!

It is not feb 96, i can recall this was part of a New Years concert. Played together with Van Dik Hout and The Scene. But besides thatim really sorry she quit, The Gathering is/was one of the best bands we have. FAR better then Within Temptation and even Epica

@eldritchwulfe: No, it was part of a series of concerts called "With A Little Help" where artists were playing together with the Metropole Orchestra. The series was recorded and broadcasted by the NPS. It was taped at Paradiso, Amsterdam.
