fuck you body! i know that the coast guard is doining there job, but why cant the tow the ships back to be dismanteled? it saves the enviroment. the government cares so much about oil spills and tries to klean that up but they dont mind sinking ships that have oil and fuel in it. that is why the us govrenment sucks, they dont stand to there word, that is why canada is better. the so called USA just cares about the money and not about the helpless mammals.

sometimes we are required to tow the boat where directed. but, usually it slows down our operations so we sink it and continue on. you can not leave a boat adrift so a decision must be made. plus, it is such a morale boost!

Cuz it gets turned over to the D.E.A. (Drug Enforcement Agency) for processing and disposal. The CG's job is to stop, sieze and transport it back to port. If the vessel is sea worthy, it and its cargo are taken to port as evidence. If it is not seaworthy, a representative sampoe of the contraband is removed and the vessel is sank as a hazard to navigation.

Were just doing what were told. If we didnt we would be booked, captains mast, etc. If you have a serious grievance try calling the captain of the port wherever your coming into, and try to have a conversation with him. being in the coast guard i can agree with you that our screening is useless and a waste of time and those policies are made by people who are not sea going people and probably never have been. but you probably deal with small boat stations or PSU's they are not sailors they are land based, we have many REAL sailors in the coast guard but because of the mismanagement from our top you only see a negative portion of what we do. it is very embarrassing how some can make my entire branch look.

sometimes we are required to tow the boat where directed. but, usually it slows down our operations so we sink it and continue on. you can not leave a boat adrift so a decision must be made. plus, it is such a morale boost!

and if you look at the effects and side effects of marijuana compared to psychiatric medications, such as seroquel and prozac, the meds are so much worse...i have muscle spasms in my neck from seroquel for the rest of my life, and it didn't even help my bipolarity or schizophrenia as much as weed does...if you don't waa smoke that's kool, but iti shouldn't be illegal to use the only thing that controls the symptoms of serious physical and psychiatric illness...look up why pot is illegal...money!

Seriously though, to those that oppose the drug LE part of the CG and rest of Homeland Security I say this: lobby your gov't to abolish the prohibition on drugs then. But I guarentee even if that happend we'd still be fighting drugs because liquor is legal yet customs still fights illegal liquor today. The CG's job has always been related to enforcing tariffs - we'd just work to stop the ones that want to trade illegally.

1). crack is bad. 2). theres a reason marijuana is decriminalized in 14 states (they decriminalized it in MA on jan 1 and MI on nov. 5) 3). i have lived in baltimore for 20 years and i know for a fact that when one kingpin is arrested then another one takes his place. 4). marijuana is not a "drug" that is dependant on certain countries. it doesnt need drug lords and it is becoming ever increasing popular to grow it in "our country". 5). kingpins are not thd only people targeted in the drug war.

Cuz it gets turned over to the D.E.A. (Drug Enforcement Agency) for processing and disposal. The CG's job is to stop, sieze and transport it back to port. Contrary to what you'd like to believe, there aren't a bunch of stoned Coasties chilling on the helo pad after a big bust. I hate to be a buzzkill. lol

If the vessel is sea worthy, it and its cargo are taken to port as evidence. If it is not seaworthy, a representative sampoe of the contraband is removed and the vessel is sank as a hazard to navigation.

Hey hernanobone. Im in the Coast Guard, and I have boarded quite a few commercial fishing boats and stuff like that. We can tell that none of you guys working out there want us on your ship. Were just doing what were told. If we didnt we would be booked, captains mast, etc. If you have a serious grievance try calling the captain of the port wherever your coming into, and try to have a conversation with him. being in the coast guard i can agree with you that our screening is useless and a waste of time and those policies are made by people who are not sea going people and probably never have been. but you probably deal with small boat stations or PSU's they are not sailors they are land based, we have many REAL sailors in the coast guard but because of the mismanagement from our top you only see a negative portion of what we do. it is very embarrassing how some can make my entire branch look.
