@jevitigre what I like most about this video is that she's using very traditional movements and nails it naturally and with so much ease. It may not be the the most complicated coreography, but it's sure perfectly performed.

I respect ur opinion but i disagree. She is a good dancer and, for me, her costume has nothing wrong. Besides there are many great dancers on Bellydance superstars (I like some more than others but they are all good on their own way).

You must know that diff dancers got diff styles and diff personalitys that they transmit on their art. And at last but not least, I'snt because you dont like it that its HORRID. Personal opinions doesnt reflect the true for everyone. Respect the fans and the dancer

This costume is HORRID. Please do not let trying to be original drive you to these extremes! Although technically strong, everything she does - and her troupes too - looks like a vegas-show-girl act. Nothing soulful, organic or authentic about it.. which is just too bad. I feel her ego has killed the contributions other dancers might have brought to the table to make it a better act. As long as it's all Jillina all the time - it will be all showgirly all the time. No variety, no soul.. blah.

Too much american style. I don't like BD Superstars. They always dance popular music. There is no interpretation of the differents instruments. I prefer classic style. Which you can "see" the music. I would like to see any one of the BD superstar dancing classical style, than i will tell you if she is a good dancer. I know that she don't know what is "egyptian shymmi"

Hola, realmente no conozco mucho de la danza del vientre, recién llevo 2 años practicándola, y no conocía a las "superstars", pero ya he visto a varias en esta web y la verdad es que estoy impresionada con Jillina es de lejos una de las mejores bailarinas de este hermoso arte. Creo que lo que hace la diferencia no es tanto la técnica (que hay muchas..) si no lo que te hace sentir.. lo que te inspira!

The song is "El Salam" (The Greeting) by Hakim ... you could probably pick out the phrase As-Salaam u Aleikum (Peace be upon you ... traditional Arabic greeting) in the chorus. I believe it's on the BellyDance Superstars CD (the first one).

Jillina does traditional Egyptian Belly Dance. Check out her hands, she keeps her form very well. I agree great American Bellydancer. One of the best, the others are Suhaila, Rachel George, Tamalyn Dallal, Ansuya, well there are a few. Depends on the Style.

I thought it looked like an egyption style :) But I thought it might also be modern egytion (the kind that was brought by egyption and midlle eastern dancers here into the US in the 1950's) Maybe they called it "modern" egyption then :) Anyways, she looks great doing it. Very elegant!
