I work with the USO so i hang around Marines (my friends are all Marines, most of them 0311! the rest POG) pretty much all day long. In the Marines 0311 is the Military Occupation Specialty number or MOS for basic infantry and POG is slang for Personal other then Grunt.

Look, I'm sure they are ordered to kill certain dogs do to disease and being rabid. BUT, theres a difference between smiling and gloating on camera than actually doing your job. I may be a cunt, but I have also served, and before I was deployed I watched every single decapitation video I could, listened to the men screaming and dying, and prepared myself for the possibility that it might happen to me, and really? It worked, I don't care anymore, and I've come to terms with the reality that is violence. Now Im back in society, and I'm perfectly capable of dealing with normal life, but I could lapse into the emotionlessness at any time, and that's what being a soldier is.

This was simply a consequence of that desensitization. There's a famous picture of WWII soldiers eating lunch on a pile of civilian corpses. I work with the USO so i hang around Marines (my friends are all Marines, most of them 0311! the rest POG) pretty much all day long. Was david right i don't no. does that mean all Marines are like that no. what i don't like is people bashing the CORPS for this, they are not giving the Corps any credit. they got rid of him. so back off from the whole and focus on the individual. to every Soldier, Marine, Sailor, and Airmen thank you very much. You assume that i was directing it at everyone i wasn't. The jargon is for any Military personnel who wonders what my friends do, i get asked a lot so i just put it up. In the Marines 0311 is the Military Occupation Specialty number or MOS for basic infantry and POG is slang for Personal other then Grunt.
