Somethings wrong with mine. I'm having an issue where red lines are appearing on my tv when i click a button or move an analog stick on my controller. The colors are also appearing not as they should be. Everything looks a little green and sickly. To clarify this is an issue with the tv not anything to do with my computer. Anyone have any idea whats going on? I just got the avermedia and I'm worried if ebay screwed me.

it might be your component cables. They were bad on mine as well. Try getting some other ones. You can get them on Amazon for 10 bucks.

@ViToX127 Yeah. The colors on my TV were all messed up & I'd have to jiggle the cables a bit ot fix it. But after I changed the cables everything went smooth.

@ViToX127 It's not in every case though, I got component cables by monster but still not fixed the problem, It was my TV, I had topcon FULL HD TV but still the frequency shit did not match with my dark crystal, so I exchanged the recording card with avermedia to a PCI card, which is much easier n quicker to use. but still my tv is still greenish with component cables. I think I will just have to replace my TV to much newer shit. Thank God, at least my xbox records HDMI

@sought84 yea i just checked it out on a newer tv and it works fine. So my component cables are working, just not with my tv. Thanks for tellin me. This kinda sucks though.

just use K-lites codec pack its it automatically has a setting to open up a shit load of files in vegas including .ts! Thumbs up so everyone can see!!

Please respond quick - does this record 60frames per second on 1080? because the hauppauge hd pvr only record at 30?

While you're playing at 5:10 the game looks really laggy/low frame rate.

So when you record a game you cant see the game you're playing at normal speed? This is important to me, I need to record but also be looking at a lagless, high frame rate image while I'm playing. Is this possible?

@popehgon It was only lagging because of the screen capturing software I use, trust me, while recording the video may be a little slower than the actual gameplay but it's smooth as can be

@popehgon This is possible, IF you get an extrernal capture card. The internal ones that hook up through PCI ports render on your computer so they have a lag or delay. But external ones usually render in the device itself.

Do i need the custom vegas for the clips, or does it convert it to be able to use on all normal vegas'?

Yes it does but you will be losing a lot of quality & time in the process. It takes the same amount of time to convert a video as rendering it does. So essentially, if you want to convert, it would be like having to render your videos twice. The average time it takes for a 10 - 15 minute video to render in HD is about 2 to 2 and a half hours. You'd be doubling that time if you convert. There is no difference between any version of Sony Vegas whether it be 8, 9, 10 or 11.

There is no difference between Sony Vegas Pro 9 & 11, it literally is the same thing but they just changed how it looks.

Can you hear the game audio while you record? I usually leave my TV volume off and listen to the sound through the capture device while it's recording. Then the TV sound won't mess up live commentary.

You need to have your TV volume on because the audio & video will lag a bit when capturing & you can get confused. It also helps when syncing up the commentary with what you captured.

@mymanmitch1096 i had the same problem. You need to change your quality settings on whatever console you have to 720p instead of anything higher.

This only works with the custom version of Sony Vegas Pro 9. If you want you can go & find one but this one will work. Besides, Sony Vegas Pro 9 is not too different than 11

when i open up the totalmedia express and go to the video recording thing it is either a black screen or it shows up but only for a second and then it freezes do u have any idea what im doing wrong?

This happened to me a few times. Unplug the USB from the computer & unplug the DVR from the outlet. Then plug in the the DVR again & then plug the USB back into your computer. If that doesn't work, do the same thing but before you plug everything back in, reboot your computer first. I hope this helped
