Pokemon Fun Fact! This is only fan speculation, but it is fairly well-known in the community nonetheless. During the S.S. Anne battle with Gary, the Raticate he sends out supposedly dies on the ship because of it wounds, and because Gary could not get it to a Pokemon Center fast enough. The next time you see him is in Lavander, and he asks if you know what it's like to have a Pokemon die. Fun times! :D

@rentenzen1 If you want a Pokemon that would be similar to that, then get a Drowzee. It comes up later in the game, but it learns similar moves, like Hypnosis, Poison Gas, and Psychic.
