wow... hollywood actually made a movie for grown-ups? No exploding cars? No half naked women? "Wilber, will it fly?" Sadly, probably, staight to DVD... And,I wonder if we'll even get it here in St. Louis!!! (We only get exploding cars...)
If you want to see this movie, ask your local library or "Friends of the Library" group to host a showing this fall. Google the production website or blog on wordpress for more information.
This looks like a cool and worthy film project. Diana J. (Claire's mom) told me to check out this trailer on here today. Good luck at the premiere!! It sounds like it will be quite the occasion.
I totally agree with you about the Patriot Act, BTW. That has worried me from the moment it was passed into law. W and the gang just keep whittling away at our civil liberties and most people are oblivious to the threat. Reminds me of the Pink Floyd classic "Sheep" from the Animals album: "Harmlessly passing your time in the grassland away, only dimly aware of a certain unease in the air.."
As a Librarian I was intrested to see what this was about, but as soon as they started bitching about the Patriot Act, I lost all desire to see the movie.
too bad considering it is the solely most damaging public law in regards to privacy that has been passed in this country's history. Quite sad you haven't the time to or interest to care about it.
I really don't mind if the FBI has records that show I'm a science fiction nerd. If the concern is solely about how this law might be abused in the future rather than about it's current state now, than advocate implementing barriers against that potential abuse.
I really don't feel the government has any business knowing whether you read science fiction or I read travel literature. The abuses are already happening, but if you are not aware of them, then you are the perfect citizen for this type of government as you are ignorant or oblivious to the loss of freedom that goes with such surveillance of your life.
yes I am trying to keep it a wonderful world, however I don't see the PATRIOT act as any part of that wonderful. If the laws continue to reflect changes to our personal privacy, the ability to have differing opinions will be drastically altered, but hey, that is your option to accept that.
A bit scary! Sadly my inteelect has not been stimulated much by working in a library- maybe they should do a film on Library Assistants (who are usually the ones that really keep a library going)?!!
Thank you! I'm going to send this to everyone I know so that they realize how much more we do than people think. This film makes me proud of my profession. Thanks again!!!!
I'm a librarian and proud of it, but I have to say this trailer needs more "younger" librarians. ;) That said, I'm still going to this movie's premier at ALA in Washington, D.C.
Yeah TY for proving my point - pendejos like you who find this video "rad" are boringly banal dee dee dees................now get your copy of mi cabroncito out ....personally I'd rather be watching Shakira's hips

Gepassioneerde bibliothecarissen. Doorbreekt het stereotiep. Leuk! Is ook mijn passie.

@QuickQuix I'm in Louisiana. Please forgive me, but I don't feel comfortable being more specific than that on so public a forum. :-)

I saw this in Groningen, NL. The film is amazing. Some parts typical American, but mostly very Universal.
My recommendations for this documentary: see it, talk about it.

What about male librarians? I don't see any in this clip. We do exist, you know.

yes we exit and we can see at least one male librarian in this trailer. We can see more in this really great documentary.

You have your opinion and I have mine. What a wonderful world.
BTW, I know plenty about and do care, I just don't see it to be the threat that you obviously do.
