I drove a C-6 that is one half of the C-12. The original model had a muffler under the hood that made the motor very quite. This was a very enjoyable machine to operate. It also had the fan and the the rad at the rear of the tractor. In the summer the blades would blow the heat away from the operator. Ours had a reversible fan so that in winter, the heat was blown on the operator.
I first saw one of these working the beach after the big storm of March 1962 in Rehoboth Beach Delaware. I was amazed at the power these things had and the sound was something I will never forget. It's nice to see that someone took the time and patience to restore one of them. They don't make anything comparable anymore.
Man...it didn't come alive until it's got a blade full of dirt, oldest dozer I ever ran was a 50's D8 w/cable blade, the pony motor didn't run so we had to pull start it with two 4220 John Deere tractors and a little ether.....
This machine is scheduled to be at the HCEA National Convention at the National Pike show, Brownsville PA, August 8th, 9th, and 10th, 2008, along with a lot more big iron.
The owner is not one to let it sit on static display all weekend.

It's like a 'Buzzen Dozen' - only different! Twice the noise! Twice the oil leaks!
I kid though. Screamers rule!
