Robert Williams (Mr. Piano) is playing the piano and Jessy Dixon is on the organ. Loretta Oliver, my favorite soloist is doing her thing as usual. She is one of the GREATS!!!
OMGoodness, Loretta's signature growl, she is sangin! And OMGoodness, can we hear more of that piano playing, he is killin it! Miss that soul stirring anointed playing!
Three Oaks B.C. used to open this a lot on Sunday mornings as morning hym. Though it wasn't, it sure nough set the paste for a great worship service!!! I MISS YA'LL SO!! I LOVE MY CHURCH HOME!
Hold on just one minute now... I logged back on to get a li'l Fantasia in the atmosphere and heard this fire gem for the FIRST time!!! Oh, Ms. Loretta brought me right in! :) ...and why is the choir ol' skool tight and full in sound + the simple accompaniment is saying so much per @hillarchives. God is so good! P(e)ace all.
This song is off the Thompson Community Singers cd..I didn't know that Loretta was a member or guest soloist. This cd is annointed. Especially the song I need Him...
@jesusisreal15 The 1st time I heard the song, "The Lord Is Blessing Me," was back in 1950 when the Five Blind Boys recorded & made it a hit record. However, I'm sure it was "written" long before then. :-)
I believe that churches should still pay homage to the original gospel classics. These songs were sung in spirit and in truth. Let Everything That Hath Breath, Praise The Lord!!!! God Bless You Real Real Good.

Was this a separate group from the Tommies? I was too young to remember...lol
wcta0608 2 years ago
No the Chicago Community choir was a branch off of The Tommies. Jessy Dixon was the director of that one!

@wcta0608 The T C S changed their name to the tommie when Rev Brunson died.
