@pitbull103 As for the Tibetan monks, please search the video "Tibetan Buddhist Monks - Meditation and Science" and take it from there. It's been studied at least from the 70's onwards, they're not secretive about their abilities. I mean they aren't teaching outsiders, but they are showing it off in lab conditions, no secrets about proving they can do the whole melting ice with the body.
These people inevitably turn out to be total frauds when tested scientifically. I have studied illusion and magic. I could whip this up in 10 minutes with an electric crystal!

This guy is real. I've been meditating for 5 years and can only burn my hands and cause blisters. He's the only guy I've seen that can catch things on fire though.
The burning paper is an old stage show trick magicians have used for years. They coat their hands in a chemical that reacts with the ink on the paper. When the "master" crumples the paper into a ball, he gets some of the chemical on the paper. There is about 10 second delay for the paper to heat up to the point of combustion, giving the master time to do a "hand flourish over the paper," making it appear he's igniting the paper with his qi. He did the trick well though.
Nope just sort of put them in my palm then kind of imitate the feeling I get when I do tai chi. Basically I make a ball of energy in my hand then I put it in my batteries. If I do this for a while it'll last for a few weeks.
@Ieatbabyseals Try this: completely drain a battery, some battery chargers have a button to do this. Check wether the battery is really empty after letting it rest for a few hours by trying to change the channel from a few feet away. If it doesn't work, do your thing and then try to change the channels from the same spot you tried before. Let us know if it works.

@francovance1. Theory is a broad term. It's not the existence of a theory but the strength of the evidence to back it up which must be considered. Theology is technically the study of theories (note the root "Theo"). Some people call themselves scientists, and have degrees in science, but it's not science until it conforms to scientific principles and standards - until then it's something like creationism.

@AizenSamaKingX Well, there are no "true" ones. If there were, it seems pretty darn heartless to not win the money and feed starving orphans. They may be "against the monetary system" whatever that means, but buying food is a fairly simple transaction and stopping hunger is a worthy goal. If this guy is genuine, he could win a million dollars and feed a LOT of hungry people. If he chooses not to do it, it's just pathetic and cruel. However, we know the real reason.

@AizenSamaKingX I fully agree, i too have multiple powers (not to the calibur of setting something on fire but in a different more mind reading, visions, instinct control, inception, etc sense. more or less just like a person from the movie men who stare at goats) I am young and my brain is still developing getting mentally stronger every second of everyday. And what about tumo meditation, from the tibetan monks ? Those guys melt ice with their bodies in a few minutes, have done it a LOT of times under scientific observation, why won't Randi try and "debunk" them ?

If these people can easily perform a paranormal feat, they can find an internet connection, fill out the application, develop a simple protocol and get the million. After that, they can give the million to starving orphans. As for Tibetan monks performing anything under "scientific" observation, I highly doubt that.

@pitbull103 Yeah, update - I've seen the whole documentary, it seems the guy was from a tradition that doesn't allow him to go public, so this was a one-time deal.
Notice how it;s not really a publicity stunt to get customers or money, as he's very hard if not impossible to track down.
So yeah the JREF people will keep their million, safe at least from this guy :)

@pitbull103 As for the Tibetan monks, please search the video "Tibetan Buddhist Monks - Meditation and Science" and take it from there. It's been studied at least from the 70's onwards, they're not secretive about their abilities. I mean they aren't teaching outsiders, but they are showing it off in lab conditions, no secrets about proving they can do the whole melting ice with the body.

The burning paper is an old stage show trick magicians have used for years. They coat their hands in a chemical that reacts with the ink on the paper. When the "master" crumples the paper into a ball, he gets some of the chemical on the paper. There is about 10 second delay for the paper to heat up to the point of combustion, giving the master time to do a "hand flourish over the paper," making it appear he's igniting the paper with his qi. He did the trick well though.

Nope just sort of put them in my palm then kind of imitate the feeling I get when I do tai chi. Basically I make a ball of energy in my hand then I put it in my batteries. If I do this for a while it'll last for a few weeks.

@Ieatbabyseals Try this: completely drain a battery, some battery chargers have a button to do this. Check wether the battery is really empty after letting it rest for a few hours by trying to change the channel from a few feet away. If it doesn't work, do your thing and then try to change the channels from the same spot you tried before. Let us know if it works.

I hav that energy (not as nearly as powerful) Yin and Yang is electro energy that runs through all of us!! You can do the old static electric shock, here is how, forget rubbing conducting electron donating fabrics together, just do this:
1)As you breathe in see energy enter your body with your breathe.
2)See this energy flow straight to your fire dan tian 9 aprx 3 cm below navel.
3) as you exhale see 1/3 to 2/3 of this energy stored here leave your dan tian and flow to the part of your body you want to emit a charge, i.e hands.
4) See the energy flow just to the ends of the body, and not beyond it.

It is more a reflection of control and manipulation of those who have the power in the west and their methodical brain washing techniques. @francovance1. Theory is a broad term. It's not the existence of a theory but the strength of the evidence to back it up which must be considered. Theology is technically the study of theories (note the root "Theo"). Some people call themselves scientists, and have degrees in science, but it's not science until it conforms to scientific principles and standards - until then it's something like creationism.

seriously thou, i noticed that flash that you can see on the ground under him when he starts to light to paper on fire. but whats really interesting is that it isn't a single flash. you can see faint electrical charges on the ground before and after the big one. def not from someone taking a picture.

I saw this video on PBS maybe 15 years ago or so and it caused me to become interested in traveling to Indonesia to learn these techniques. I recently remembered this video a couple of weeks ago but couldn't find the name or any info through Google searches. I happened to be researching videos on telekinesis, and low and behold, here's the video I had been looking for along with the clip of the newspaper being set on fire which is what interested me the most all those years ago...
