  • Correct me if i am wrong but i think that the traditonal way of medicines is better evan though healing is probaly slower. do you know if the school and sergery are still going? do they have one teacher for medicines and one for kung fu or do they still have one teacher that teaches both the traditonal ways?

  • do you know who the master of this school and surgery is now? i would be a shame if the school only has 1 teacher for kung fu and 1 for the medicines and i guess now-a-days people teach the modern way and the traditonal way witch i think is better evan though it is slower way of healing.this is my opion.please don't be offended.

  • @MrNath5150

now his succesor is Cheon yee keung, the then youg guy with white shirt and red belt who performs kwan dao, part of fu hok and sup yin.

i've been in hk by him 2 times

  • @popsjnr i've seen Kong pui wai when i was there. He came in Si fu ambulatory and he gave to Kong his medicine or something...

in chang Hon chung lineage of Hung Kuen..the successor is the one who holds the medical part of Hung Kuen and Wong fei Hung medical formulas, not the one who holds the HKCMAA.

they were his 2 pupils, but cheung (even if he's less famous) is the successor.

PS look at the videos...who performs the forms and tecqniques?

  • @popsjnr

    i heard about Jim Uglow

    I was there 2 times in 3 years...my master 15th times..

the ambulatory is held by cheon. and all the patients come to him for his wong's formulas.

He has the Wong fei hung book of the formulas. I saw it

Kong was his practice brother...they were the best of chang's school.

  • 5:07 so true, now in days no one trains hard any more. most martial artists I've seen only train one or twice a week. lazy bastards.

  • Too @ Namriu94.

The amount of effort you put into something. Depends on what you want from it!

If you just want an alternative kind of exercise to get in shape, and for your health benefits.

Then twice a week is sufficient enough, for some.

Actually many martial artists does train hard, and many trains almost every day!

(And although the relation between Master and pupil, has changed over the years.

There are still some who uphold the old Master and pupil relations-ship.)

  • Too @ Namriu94.

I almost removed your comment, due to rude language.

Please keep those rude parts of your comments, to yourself. (they don't serve you any good) ;-)

  • wait! what was my comment?

  • Hi again, its about calling people: Bastards.

(Don't worry, i'm not gonna remove, your comment, from this video.)

In the video after this one (3 out of 3).

your only comment was: "You bastard". It was directed at: "Vojak3" or "maceioninjutsu", probably because you disagreed with "him".

    Peace :-)

  • Awesome!

  • Sifu Cheon Yee Keung is THE MAN!

I say that as ex-student of a sifu who trained with (but in effect under) him being the number 1student, Chan Hon Chung was doing very little teaching by then. Sifu Cheon Yee Keung knows all of it, hand, weapons, how to actually fight (not to be assumed with some sifu) and medicine. Such a shame that he gets less recognition for who he is and what he stands for. He deserves it.

(meanwhile, there's just too much crap called 'Hung Kuen' on youtube)

  • yes he does.

i went for my fist trip with my si fu (15th trip by Si Gon Cheon yee keung) and 2 my companions.

I dunno if he teach also to unkonown people (introducted by nobody), but he still practice hung kuen traditionale medicine, that is he's main activity (like Chan hon chung does in this video). he's integrity and tecnique is absolute..i was with him about 20 hours per day.

Maybe i'm gonna be there next summer too.

  • the guy on the dummy looks confident

  • He is Si FU CHeon Yee Keung, successor of CHan Hon Chun.

I was there in Hong Kong last summer, learning FU Hok form by him. He's almost 63 but he's still the best, his technique is perfect.

He's a doctor, like Master Chan hong chun was.

It's all about Hung Kuen, all about tradition

  • does he still teach in hk,

  • yes he does in prince edward, kowloon, HK.

he's the only Hung Kuen holder, cause he has the wong fei hung medicine book.

  • any recent videos on youtube with si fu cheon yee keung?

  • i don't think there are some recent videos of Si FU Cheon.

He's a reserved person, he practice medicine as bone setter in his office in prince edward (HK).

    all about tradition.

  • such a cramped space for such a long weapon

  • the place is small, but in HK traditional gyms are like this. The place , anyway are powerfull as Cheon Yee Keung's gym still is.

There's no space in HK, u know..

  • Sadly, what he said is so true.

I'd love to take up a young lad under my wing and make him my full responsibility. My own apprentice.

  • good stuff!

  • at his age and look how well he still handles the kwan do all that iron wire practice keeps him stong

  • You see the senior student? He is the BEST there is.

  • Thats funny. Great documentary. Its always humerous to see a American guy hanging out, picking up the bread crumbs of techniques. Welcome to the new world. Money is the mover of affairs.

    Great footage,

    Peace

  • woow ...respect for that!

  • I have heard that BBC (supposedly) don't, have any recordings left from this particulary documentary..

So if, the original broadcasters of this doc.(BBC). even isn't in the possession of these footage's themselves...?

One could suspect, that they (BBC), would be grate full to see, that their recordings/footage's hasn't been completely lost.. (Unless of course, people where making bundles of money from it)

  • I would love to get my hands on this documentary. Very informative. 5/5

  • Google - youd be surprised.. its out there on DVD but Im a bit reluctant to get anyone into trouble - copyright and all that.

  • Good point about the difference between a "master" and a "coach"

  • thanks for putting this up.
