  • does anyone know where to find a GOOD tutorial on multi track recording with this thing with 4 tracks, editing, mastering and converting to mp3 all the way to importing final song to computer??????

  • PLEASE HELP. how do i export all 4 tracks. or a song with 4 tracks.

  • How the hell do u master a track and save it as an mp3?? plz help me..

  • @harmonica74 I ran out of mojo before doing a video on that, but here goes: Make sure you are in mastering mode (press exit +utility til mastering icon is on) with your best takes as active traks. The top right of the display shows where the song is mixing to, i.e., 12V1 signifies target tracks of 1and 2 on virtual trak 1 of each. Then press rec/play. At end of song, follow prompts to export as WAV or mp3. Output will be in mp3 folder when connected to computer.

  • @gravelroadmedia THANK YOU SOO MUCH!

  • Is there a sync option to that....

  • @TheGodFatherBlasta The rhythm will be on the time signature and bpm you set, and you can monitor the song as you lay down new tracks, but there's no automated snapping to grid like on computer programs.

  • This is supposed to be the recording part of this video series... All there is are adjusting the settings which has been shown since part 1. Where's the actual recording?

  • @delacyrow I agree it would be a better demo to see the whole process, but I'm just showing which buttons to push to create a recording. (You supply the magic.) I do appreciate the feedback, and maybe I can expand the demo in the future.

  • How do you think drums would sound if I recorded them with the mic?

  • @WassuhhhhNoel I havent tried it. Drums are usually close mic'd with dynamic mics whereas the BR's mic is a condenser mic (sensitive). I would reduce sensitivity on the input page and play around with distances and dampening to find the sweet spot. Let me know how it goes.

  • i want to upload some vids to youtube using a camera and digital recorder (to record higher quality audio)..how easy would it be using this device, and could i drop the audio files straight into software such as iMovie??

  • @funkyrimpler I use it for sync audio, and the quality is pristine. The problem is sync'ing your 30 frames per second audio with 29.97 fps video. The drift becomes a problem quickly. So either get a good external mic for your camera (if that's possible) or if you are committed to the BR, you can fiddle with speed control in iMovie, i.e., speed up the video to 100.1% or run the audio at 99.9%. I haven't found these to be precise fixes.

  • Okay, so I have all 4 tracks of my song recorded. How do I get all 4 tracks onto a master track and put it on my computer? Everytime I try to export the song as an MP3 it only converts tracks 1 and 2. Where did tracks 3 and 4 go? Please help me out.

  • @MrGuitarGuy89 I have a video on bouncing. That's not exactly the same as mastering, but the functions are similar. Look for the link to my playlist underneath the video pane. The short answer is to make sure you are in mastering mode with your best takes as active traks. Then make sure the top right of the display is set to mix down to a stereo pair, i.e., 12V1 signifies target tracks of 1and 2 on virtual trak 1 of each. Then press rec/play and stop/export at end of song. Output in mp3 folder.

  • Hi :) Is it possible to set the metronome for recording so that there will be for example 20 bars of 4/4 time signature and then 1 bar 7/8 and again 2 of 4/4 and then 3 15/16. You see..I want to know if I can customize it totally or if there are some (and how many, how strict) limits. Thank you for your answer! :)

  • Is there anyway to make your own arrangements?

  • @Kiejzo Yes. Go to the full playlist of my videos (the link is just under the video, below the share button)

and watch the ones called rhythm part 1 and part 2.

  • AMAZING!!!!!!!!

  • can you record using an mp3

for instance if I had a bass and drum mp3 and wanted to use that as a start to my recording

  • Hello I have been using tape recorders with in built mics to recorder my acoustic guitar and singing. I noticed with the boss micro br it has an in built mic to. just wondering how i can use that to record my acoustc guitar and vocal just using the in built mic can it be done. thanks

  • @dun59255 press input button and select mic (it should be all caps: MIC). While there you can set reverb and sensitivity. Easy on the front side reverb, you can always add more in post. The built in condenser mic is sensitive to outside noises and reflected sound, so try to find a "dead" space where you have draperies, carpet, etc.

Get closer to mic to have clearer sound, vary distance up and down to get more or less guitar. Maybe set BR on a pillow to reduce reflected sound waves. G'luck

  • how do i turn track 1 and track 2 into an mp3?

  • @FLAMINGSTRINGZ press exit + utility to get "mastering" icon on, then with levels, pan, and rhythm set like you want, press rec / play. the tracks will combine to a stereo pair in real time playback, and when you stop the recording, you will have options whether to export as mp3 or WAV. These mastered recordings will be available in your mp3 folder when connected to computer. BTW, you can set mastering patches under "effects" button if you want before mastering out.

  • @gravelroadmedia thank you very much i really appreciate it

  • Hey man quick question, i just got one of these things and its really nice. kinda compact tho and it confuses the hell out of me. I had recorded 2 tracks acoustic and vocals in normal mode. i converted both to mp3 and exported them and when they come up on my computer they are 2 seperate tracks. How do i make them play together at the same time? can i do that on the computer or do i have to do it on the Br first?

  • is there a way to export the song with the rhythm part included?

  • @thefakeguy If you mix with rhythm "on", it will be there in the mix when you "bounce" or "master". Set the rhythm volume because you can't adjust that later. So you can mix down 5 tracks of audio if you count the rhythm track. (the beatles had 4)

UTIL >TRK > EXP doesn't seem to carry the rhythm track along on the export, so stick to "mastering" mode to get your music out. review: press exit+utility til mastering icon is on, set mix and effects, rec+play, stop at end, set export options.

  • @gravelroadmedia thanks that really helped.

  • Can you switch the MicroBR on and leave it running for say one hour and record several songs during that period and then select one particular song to keep and delete the others?

Thanks for the vids, they are of a great help.

  • Get all these videos by clicking on the playlist link in the description (top right), or go to my channel and see the micro br playlist.

  • @gravelroadmedia How do you, after recording 4 tracks, assign specific effects to each track? Thanks.

  • @sandeatingcontest The effect you choose is applied to the recording (referred to as "wet"). If you don't want that, you can record dry and apply effects later. How?

Under the effects button, cursor right until you see LOC. Select it and use the + key to see options: Normal, Rec Dry, Trk 1,2,3,4, Trk 1/2, Trk 3/4, Rhythm, and Master. Rec Dry allows you to hear an effect as you record, but the recording will be dry. Select a location to apply effect post-recording.

Tell me how it works out.

  • I need to do a vid. The short? answer is you first record up to 4 tracks, set volume & pan. Then go bounce mode (exit+util buttons)

Display will show 12V2 meaning it will send your mix to virtual trak 2 of traks 1/2 (L-R stereo). U can cursor over &send it to trk 3/4, or to a single mono trk

Rewind, press record/play and it will mix down to selected v-traks. press stop at end of mixdown, select trk 1&2 v2 to hear the result. go bak to norm mode lay down add'l traks on available trx 3&4. G'luk

  • @gravelroadmedia i cant seem to figure out how to bounce tracks 1& 2 on top of tracks 3& 4. do you have to select the bounced tracks and bounce them on top of the others? confusing stuff

  • @Kamisusto

The short? answer is you first record up to 4 tracks, mix as desired by setting volume & pan. Then go bounce mode (exit+util buttons til you see the bounce icon.) Display will show 12V2 meaning it will send your mix to virtual trak 2 of traks 1/2.

Rewind, press record/play and it will record to destination Trak 1 & 2, virtual 2 giving you a L/R stereo mix. press stop after it records, select trk 1&2 v2 to hear the result. go bak to norm mode lay down add'l traks if desired.

  • what about bouncing? if u know how to do that can u explain to me? im really confused by it.
