It makes me laugh to see all these people telling others what they should and should not be doing. I find it extremely disheartening that people are so judgmental of others. You see a fat person eating, and well "That explains everything." Conversely, you see a skinny person eating and it's normal. They obviously need the calories? If someone wants to eat poorly and not exercise, then they certainly don't have to justify it to someone who does the opposite.
I love sarcasm. SOOO much. This is so amazing :) I love the fact that all she's doing is making it a better place or people that our society is singling out. Being "fat" has been around forever, it's genetics. Sure when it comes to the point where you're unhealthy because of your weight, then sure, lose weight, but not because society tells you that's what you're supposed t be doing.
@leighab90 I know a lot of fat people who eat properly and work out. I, On the other hand, don't work out and eat junk, and I'm thin, just like my father and mother used to be when they were my age. Weight has a lot more to do with genetics than what some people are willing to admit.
The claim that fat people are fat because there is something flawed in their personality? It's an excuse for people like you. Maybe hating fat people makes you feel better about yourself, or something.
I love how every commenter seems to have over looked one of my favorite comments in her first fat rant: she's not saying we should all binge eat junk food and staple our asses to the couch, she's saying if you are dieting and exercising and you're STILL FAT, that's okay. Some of us, myself included, have multiple health and genetic reasons why being 'thin' or anywhere near it is nearly impossible without resorting to UNHEALTHY types of diet and exercise. I shouldn't have to hate myself over it.
If you are healthy the weight you are is just fine - but this falls on deaf ears for most young women and girls, and many older ones. They are made to feel bad for having any kind of adult body, and it is very hard to resist those pervasive images .Slim is seen as SO glamourous. Fat is seen as so useless. I do not want to be fat, but I do not wnt to be skinny either - I want to be realistically sized, eating food without guilt.
OK, seriously... I love this one too. I will agree that in many cases a fat person eats less or a lot more moderately than their thin counterpart. I've seen it. Not always the case. Of course there are fat people who eat lots and lots. But there are also thin people that do too. I think there are thin people that just have a naturally excellent working metabolism. Some of us have to work hard to get it working. And sometimes...it just doesn't seem to want to work. Great video!
3,500 calories in = gain a pound of fat. 3,500 calories out = lose a pound of fat. A simple matter of conservation of energy. A scientific fact. Don't like it? Then you don't like the first law of thermodynamics.
@JLTinsley That's a very simplistic version of a very complicated process, ignoring completely important biological factors by relying on a simple equation... Its like saying "guns don't kill people, people kill people" or "If it ain't broke, don't fix it"
i like this video a lot, and i'm all about size acceptance, BUT, it's simply untrue that "fat people don't eat any differently than thin people." the overwhelming body of scientific data shows that weight is largely about calories in/calories out. if you take in more than you burn, you will be overweight. and of course genetics or metabolic disorders CAN play a role in dictating size, but if you were to TRULY compare the average calorie intake of fat v. thin people, thin people eat less, period.
@tammyb313 I eat less than most the skinny people at my school. Hell, I barely ever eat lunch(and I don't binge afterschool). I'm healthy. I excersize. Nothing's wrong with my metabolism/heart nor my moms(don't know my dad). But I'm still at least 30-40 Ibs. overweight. It's just in my genetic wiring to be fat.
@ToxxicVennom i'm skeptical. if nothing's wrong with your metabolism (meaning, your body burns calories at a normal rate), and you're still overweight, it probably means you're consuming more than your body needs. you can't know whether you eat more or less than your skinny friend unless you monitor every calorie both of you consume throughout the day. my weight has shifted over a ten-pound range for most of my life, but when i eat more, i weigh more, and when i eat less, i weigh less.
@tammyb313 I know what metabolism means. I'm fat, not stupid. Okay shitwad, what I'm saying I eat less than what these skinny girls say they eat. The girls at my school say they eat a hell of a lot of food everyday and don't gain weight. I'm going by what they're saying not stalking them and monitoring what they eat. I'm just meant to be fat and I'm okay with that. Guys still like me. I still can make friends(even though I'm not good at making them, but that's a personality flaw, I guess.) Imfat
@tammyb313: Not sure about this but I do know that the whole "you cant be eating as little as you say or you wouldnt be fat!" attitude meant it took doctors 20 years to figure out my metabolism disorder (which affects not just weight, by the way, from brain function to breathing to everything really) just because doctors and anyone else simply never believes any overweight person when they say they eat little.
@LeaYdwI for sure; metabolic disorders are a whole other story and can do lots of terrible things, but only a tiny percentage of the overweight population suffers from one. you are the exception, not the rule.
Don't act like such a twat. The last thing I ate was a sandwich last week, I cycle four miles a day. And I'm still fat. It's people like you who crush any hope of me ever having a happy, functional life.
Don't you dare judge anyone you know nothing about, go die in a pit.
@EmCooper I do not believe she meant offense. She is not making fun of people with legitimate eating disorders. She is making fun of the notion that anyone who is "overweight" must be an overeater. As if not being skinny means all you think about is food. Eating is as necessary as breathing and everyone must do it. Read the comments here and you can see how misinformed and naive people are about body size and health. She is poking fun at THOSE people.
@Ameliaj8de Care to explain it to me? I'd love to hear what the point of this really was. (Not said in a sarcastic tone. I enjoy a lot of her other videos ... this one is just baffling me.) Thank you!
Wow. This video is extremely offensive to people who actually have a legitimate over-eating disorder. It's not eating 3x a day, it's 12x. It's not hiding food in a cupboard, it's hiding food in sock drawers, under beds, in closets. It's not eating too much "salad," it's ordering 4 full meals from McDonald's and then going home and eating an entire pizza and still not feeling full.
This is f-ing stupid, wtf it's epicly stupid, they are like openly proud gays, annoying... When the Peggy like person, can you stop please, you are not a type to be made fun of you dont look over 120, I mean this is rediculus, the first wasn't bad but now just... Ugh
No. Theres a reason you are fat. You do eat more calories then then everyone else.Do you seriously think it;s normal that you can barely breath when you walk up 5 stairs?
lol, it's easy for her to say because sure she's fat, but she's beautiful. She has a beautiful face.
And yeah, naturally thin people can eat whatever they want, but some poeple are thin because they put the effort into it. and most people who are actually "overweight" are overweight because of the way they eat. If you eat healthy and workout, it doesn't mean you'll be "thin" by todays standards, but it will get you either in or near the "healthy bmi" weight range.
you need to stop giving obese people an excuse to continue an unhealthy lifestyle. i lost 70lbs over 3 years ago and it all comes down to what you eat. if you want to be fat then be fat, no one cares but don't pretend like it's not a health risk. smokers don't have enough will power to quit smoking either but i don't see some wheezy old man on here telling people it's ok.
If you are obese, you are more likely to develop type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol and triglycerides, coronary artery disease (CAD), stroke, and sleep apnea, among other conditions.
@ralphy4u102 Yet there are no diseases that make you fat, and ALL diseases make you skinny. In that logic viewing a skinny person SHOULD make you think sick, not the other way around. ALSO, fat people have a higher survival rate for heart attacks vs skinny people.
@whatsoupify They also have a higher likelihood of heart attacks.A 20% chance of surviving a heart attack once is MUCH better than an 80% chance of surviving a heart attack 10 times. Also,if there are no diseases that make you fat, then you have no excuse for being fat (whereas according to you anorexic people DO have an excuse). Also, nobody wants you to be anorexic, people just want you to be within a weight that you don't cost the U.S. $147 billion every year in medical costs. end bionerd rant
@ralphy4u102 you need to stop being an egotistical know it all. =] just because someone is over weight does NOT mean she automatically has heath problems. (oh no im 20 pounds over weight im going to get all these diseases and i could die, its all bullshit) doctors only talk about the bad cases of obesity, and not the fact that there are more healthy over weight people than non healthy.
I have lost weight many times, and not just a few lbs, we're talking 50+ lbs, it takes a lot of hard work to lose it, but only a short time to find it. I am so happy to have found your videos, you are a wonderfully awesome, beautiful person.
@bellemcc It takes around 5 minutes a day. So I don't worry about it too much. I also allow myself one day a week to eat whatever I want. The point of my comment was it was HARD to lose weight. My family is full of skinny people. I have always ate healthier than them yet I'm the one who has to lose weight.
Fat people may not eat more than thin people, but the fact that they are fat shows that the way they eat isn't healthy. An unhealthy gut (caused by not getting the right nutrients, enzymes, food for healthy gut flora) lets sugar and inflammatory food molecules wreak havoc on hormones and brain chemistry, and these problems may manifest in weight gain, along with tons of other health issues.
Instead of giving up, fat people should look towards healing, not losing. Nobody is 'naturally' fat.
@Xennami Actually studies in england have been done and fat people do actually eat more calories than thin people. It was found that they ate on average double the calories than people who are thin.

I can name more if you want me to, these are all peer reviewed articles. PS sorry the 1st reply was done 2xs.
@MonaRocks09 As a matter of fact, often you can't. Most overweight people fail to control their intake, not because they are lazy or prefer to be miserable and whiny, but because they have been trying to limit food for so long that their brain is reading the constant mental restriction as lack of food. The survival instinct kicks in-and voila-you are eating the 3 packs of twinkies even though you really don't want to. And you probably don't even like twinkies at all!
@ancidoc1 that's true, I never really looked at it like that. But I mean if they start doing it they'll get used to it eventually! just don't have any junk food in the house, out of sight out of mind and MOUTH!
being addicted to food is as real and serious as being addicted to drugs or alcohol...so to tell someone just to stop eating is like expecting every crack addict out there to go cold turkey and never slip up again.Just as pointless as trying to force and anorexic to eat if they don't want too. I get told to lose weight by ppl who have been trying to quit smoking years.everyone is addicted to something and food is an easy choice because u have to eat
Life is unfair and it hurts when people judge you!.....I never eat much when I go out, almost like trying to tell people, "see, I'm not fat because I eat like a pig", its hard, hurts my self esteem and I'm trying to get over it all and be more confident and your videos definitely help! :).....please make more of these!
I'm fat and i dont eat much. :P yesterday i found myself scowling at a thin girl eating a whole pack of coocies on her own! haha i'd get sick of that. XD
This is self pitying bullshit, you're trying to convince yourself and others that you're happy, but you know your not. If you really didn't give a fuck what people thought of you, you wouldn't feel the need to keep reminding people that you really don't care.
Yeah, a friend of ours was always talking about the importance of working out, etc etc because we're both overweight. Okay, cool... we're working on getting healthier. But then I found out that he eats pizza all the time, doesn't seem to ever eat vegetables or complex carbs -- this guy eats pop tarts for breakfast and the lovely gym that's in his house is apparently never used. Hmm... ~blank stare~ we eat healthier and have healthier lifestyles than he does.
Joy Nash...U r truthfully someone to know. I love your PRIDE in yourself and id never see it as vain because I am the exact same way! I speake the way you are speaking and its so amazing to know that we are growing in every color created.........KEEP UP THIS FANTASTIC FAT RANT....YOU ARE AWESOME! YOUR PHAT GIRL FRENZY IS OUTSTANDING!!!!!!!!!!!!
Complusive eatting is a serious thing though. People eat for emotional reasons and not when they're physically hungry or schedualed eating routine. Binging is bad for your health & often very degrading on someones self esteem. Of course some fat people eat normally and exercise and are just big because they are (like how some thin people who eat loads and never exercise are naturally thin). But you turn on any TV programe exploring obeasity and the subjects are often eating over 3000 cals a day.
lol @ those of you who say "fat ppl work out less than thin ppl." I am chubby I work out every day, when I go to the park I see a lot more fat, chubby, normal size ppl than thin ppl that you would find at hollister and what not.
omg! reading all these comments on fat acceptance videos, i wonder why americans hate fat people so much? i can't believe that amount of hate is real! it must be terrible being fat and living in america :(
@HebaHosni I've traveled and seen fat prejudice in many other countries too. I've also heard people from other countries refer to people in the U.S. derisively as "fat Americans".
@HebaHosni Well in Italy the situation is pretty bad too. Somewhat male fat is "forgiven"(the well-fed man), but female fat is like an insult, a licence to street harrasment or worse: she's fat, therefore she's also stupid, is common the sentence "no man will ever take her", ( or "who's the idiot that's gonna take her?"). Thinking this way, also many people from countries in North Africa, Balcans, Middle and Southern East. America is not alone, I believe.
You dont get to 224lbs 'eating moderately'. That is more than Randy Couture. I dont know why anyone would "hate" fat people. But I also dont think we should be delusional about it. It seems strange to me that some overweight people just decide that their health is not worth a change in diet and exercise. You only live once. Try to fulfill your potential, OR try to change the worlds biology and sexual selection.
@br8d1 have to agree. For example serving sizes for an average meal is pretty small but people don't realise thats all they need. Most people I know can't imagine eatting only a cup (8 oz) of cereal for breakfast with skim milk and a banana. they think if the bowl isn't full its not enough then say they eat the same. But people make lots of unhealthy choices in their lives in one form or another weather its drinking or the community they choose to live in or what have you.
@yerslaw People's actual caloric needs vary wildly. The amount of food that a small sedentary person needs is almost certainly a FRACTION of what, say, a heavyweight powerlifter needs.
@br8d1 Well I don't know if you can tell, but she's tall. Even if I weight less than 200lbs, I have to wear much larger clothing 'cause my bodyshape is the opposite than hers and yes, I'm not that tall. Scale weight doesn't matter that much.
I recently went two weeks and only drank three Slimfasts a day. I gained five pounds.
I adore these rants. If you're eating right and exercising and still can't weigh the same as a metabolically fit 14 year old Cosmo model, you're NOT WRONG.
I lost 64 pounds in 18 months by not eating starchy carbs. Lots of fruits and veggies for carbs instead. Also walking 3.5 miles each afternoon, seven days a week. Keeping it off is definitely harder than losing it. I'm very food conscious now and try very hard to stick to within 1500-1600 calories a day. so much horrible food is available everywhere and anywhere in this country. You really have to stay disciplined to keep eating healthy. If you do it long enough it just becomes way of li
there's a whole other side other than diet to being fat lol, sure sure you can eat moderately but if all you do is sit in your office all day, drive home, watch tv, and sleep, you shouldn't be surprised if you're fat
I have lost over 20 pounds through diet & exercise. I have a strenuous job, and it really came down to my diet. I love Joy, and I agree it's not the same for everyone. I eat 1400-1650 calories a day depending on how I feel. I know a few people that no matter what they do, they can't lose weight. Most of them have thyroid issues. My family, & boyfriend eat horribly compared to me. Even when I ate my worst I did eat like them. They are all thin. It's not as simple as everyone thinks.
@lostinthemission eating less than 1500 calories for an extended period of time can have serious mental and physical health effects: see the Minnesota starvation experiment. This study found that a calorie restrictive diet of 1500 calories a day resulted in increased depression, hysteria and hypochondriasis. Physiological effects included some severe reactions such as self mutilation.
@lostinthemission continued..: Patients experienced a decreased ability to focus or make decisions and exhibited a preoccupation with food. The patients sex drives were reduced drastically and showed signs of social withdraw and isolation and some exhibited swelling in their extremities (edema). The study suggests that low calorie diets are quite unhealthy.
@hlkolaya Now I am maintaining a loss of 40lbs. I had to do it for health reasons.I'm a healthy size 8. I am by no means skin, and bones. I eat more calories now, around 1600-1700. I try to eat a clean diet with a small amount of processed foods. I've been eating healthy for almost a year it's easier to maintain. I feel more focused, happier, and energized. But not because of my weight. Weight is just a number. I truly believe it's because I've faced my food demons. I was an emotional eater.
@guildenstern14 I agree. Just want to add that it's hard to tell who has this problem by looking at them. When I was really skinny I was a huge sugar addict. Which is, i guess the point of the sweet vid.
i love these videos, and altho it's true that some people just have a naturally slow metabolism or are larger because of genetics some people are also large because they eat a lot. I was eating a lot, then cut what I ate and lost a lot of weight, same person, same body chemistry, but 20 lbs lighter b/c i changed what i ate so there's a lot of factors, but good vid they make me feel happier about myself
The reason a fat person and a thin person can eat the same(very rarebecause most fat people eat a lot more) and exercise the same(also rare) everyone has a different metabolism which means someone with a really low metabolism either has to work out more or eat less.
In ancient times people were not dot very often. If you combine eating well with regular exercise you can lose weight easily. The first step is accepting your fat
I liked your video. I think you did a good job expressing yourself, even if I don't necessarily agree.
"Fat people don't eat any differently than thin people do" isn't true. Just watch some of that show "Supersize vs Superskinny," where each pair represents extremes on both sides of the dietary spectrum.
This stuff is just depressing companies looking to make money out of peoples' self destruction. It's as bad as the pro anorexia people, it's the other half of the coin and is almost as likely to lead to death... This is just as bad as those blogs that egg on people to starve themselves to death, but instead it's eating themselves to death. Super thin isn't good but neither is obese... VISCERAL (ABDOMINAL/STOMACH) FAT LEADS TO CANCER.
so what you're saying is this woman on the video might die early because she was sorta maybe kinda a little insy winsy bit fat? wow. you're dumb. only god knows when you are gonna die. heck i could get in a car accident tommorrow and die, well is that cause im fat?
BS propaganda from the in denial fat parade that don't want to admit they have a problem. if you need to wear maternity wear as normal wear YOU HAVE A PROBLEM, Americans, as a nation... SORRY BUT THAT IS THE HARD TRUTH OF IT. ABDOMINAL (VISCERAL) FAT CAUSES *CANCER*, instead of buying bigger clothes every year buy a gym membership instead! I am totally serious.
well, just about EVERYONE in my family is fat, chubby, huge, pudgy, and has belly fat. (thats a hell of a lot of people) And NONE of them have gotten cancer from being fat. And it's not just America that has eating problems, alot of other countries do also! But i must ask, why do you skinny people even care? Its not like you are actually tring to help anyone, you are just reading a bunch of fake stats of the net.
Stop spreading misinformation. Fat people are a drain our our healthcare system(our money). It really is broken, people need to eat healthier and exercise more. Stop bullshitting yourselves, eat the same or less calories than you spend per day. Obese people may eat moderately, but they still eat wayyyyyy to many calories. All food isn't created equal. Actually read a college(or even highschool) level nutrition textbook and stop being in denial.
fat people are a drain? really? you are highly intelligent aren't you? Nah, probably not. do you really want to know the drain? its the drug adicts, alcoholics, smokers and (hate to say it) the mentally retarded.
@werheroszz123 Yes fat people are a drain on the healthcare system. "The annual healthcare cost of obesity in the US has doubled in less than a decade and may be as high as 147 billion dollars a year says new government-sponsored research.
You are highly intelligent are you. The "drug addicts(this includes alcoholics & smokers) aren't as much of a drain.
@Dacke I wonder if you realize that we don't pay for anyone else's healthcare? Thats only if we have universal healthcare. I am a mayor of a town and graduated with a Phd in polisci and I'm quite sure I know these things. Anyway, why do you care? All you are doing is insulting, and not getting out there and REALLY trying to change things. If you cared, you'd help the obese become healthy.
@werheroszz123 people with mental issues are not draining anything you dumb ass, there a minority especially compared to the third of adults that are obese or overweight, also saying that the mentally unstable are a strain is like saying people with cancer are a strain, it is a medical illness. Although Obesity is when humans are OVERFED, how sad is it that obese people can overeat and the many cardio vascular related diseases deriving from obesity, are preventable.
@werheroszz123 Also People with down syndrome and other mental conditions dont choose it and there burden on health care is un comparable to fat people that have the choice to prevent future obesity related diseases and conditions by getting fit + healthy.
Ok there are so many things I want to say about this video.
1. You are a desperate cry for help because you document your acceptance of your obvious obesity to read these comforting comments of people who share your disability.
2. If you were really fat and healthy which is a rare combonation you should be able to perform the same exercise as people who are thin.
3. Stop making videos to get sympathy and make yourself feel like there is nothing wrong with being dangerously fat.
All of the people saying that fat people just need to eat less, or burn more calories than they take in....I'm guessing they're saying that thin people do just that? That every single thin person in the world gets their intake/output ratio just right?!? Please! There's obviously more to it than that. I know so many people who eat SO MUCH MORE than me, have desk jobs where they sit all day, and go home and do some more sitting. Yet, they're skinny. Makes so much sense, right?
@garciajennifer223 OMG I totally agree. I work in a job labeled: physically strenuous, I go to the gym, I eat nothing but salad and lean healthy crap, constantly count calories, I'm always hungry, and it pisses me off that the skinny ppl with desk jobs can consume 5k calories a day in twinkies and pudding and cheetos etc, live a sedentary lifestyle, and never gain a pound. WTF? If it was as simple as my trainer makes it out to be I'd be a stick too.
@jetmechgurl So you also personally know space alien vampires that work desk jobs, and have intimate details of their diets and exercise routines? Crazy. Watch out for that trainer, though. He may tell you that proper diet and exercise are important for physical health, but he's probably just one of them. Seriously though...
@garciajennifer223 There are a lot of people who're thin in the world because their bodies are starving. If you consume about the same amount of energy you use, your weight stays the same. If you don't consume enough energy, you will lose weight. If you take in too much energy, you'll gain weight. It's not magic. You're underestimating how much you eat each day...or your coworkers are space alien vampires. Either way, you gotta figure that out.
@garciajennifer223 actually yes .. just because you see them eat one meal of the day doesnt mean they go home and stuff their face .. and if someone does eat a shit ton and sit around all day .. eventually it will add up .. its basic math .. if you burn more calories then you take in, you will lose weight .. idk why it is such a difficult concept to understand .......
@garciajennifer223 um its about eating the number of calories and doing the correct amount of exercise to maintain a healthy weight. It doesn't matter if others can eat more than you or not. Why even bring something so irrelevant up? The fact is if YOU burn more calories and eat less you will be able to attain a healthy weight. I suspect you never will as you are living in denial, and just making excuses. Go visit a dietitian if you are serious, otherwise quit whining what other people can do.
LMAO @ people here thinking just doing cardio or walking is enough to see a real difference
get in the gym and life heavy weights. The extra muscle tone will make it much easier to stay in shape and u burn a lot more calories doing vigorous weight lifting than walking for 20 minutes
I am 5'8 & a size 18. I actually look a lot better now that im now that thin. I have gone to a doctor, I have NO health problems. I still look good & I know it ! EVERYONE looks good!
Joy, your just plain awsome, love it.

It obviously is broken. Bones have a weight limit. And obviosly fat people do not eat appropriately given their metabolism...thus the tummy problems.
In short, you're a fat sack of shit. Please go kill yourself.

So sad.

3,500 calories in = gain a pound of fat. 3,500 calories out = lose a pound of fat. A simple matter of conservation of energy. A scientific fact. Don't like it? Then you don't like the first law of thermodynamics.
JLTinsley 2 months ago
@JLTinsley That's a very simplistic version of a very complicated process, ignoring completely important biological factors by relying on a simple equation... Its like saying "guns don't kill people, people kill people" or "If it ain't broke, don't fix it"

i like this video a lot, and i'm all about size acceptance, BUT, it's simply untrue that "fat people don't eat any differently than thin people." the overwhelming body of scientific data shows that weight is largely about calories in/calories out. if you take in more than you burn, you will be overweight. and of course genetics or metabolic disorders CAN play a role in dictating size, but if you were to TRULY compare the average calorie intake of fat v. thin people, thin people eat less, period.
tammyb313 3 months ago 3
@tammyb313 I eat less than most the skinny people at my school. Hell, I barely ever eat lunch(and I don't binge afterschool). I'm healthy. I excersize. Nothing's wrong with my metabolism/heart nor my moms(don't know my dad). But I'm still at least 30-40 Ibs. overweight. It's just in my genetic wiring to be fat.
ToxxicVennom 3 months ago 2
@ToxxicVennom i'm skeptical. if nothing's wrong with your metabolism (meaning, your body burns calories at a normal rate), and you're still overweight, it probably means you're consuming more than your body needs. you can't know whether you eat more or less than your skinny friend unless you monitor every calorie both of you consume throughout the day. my weight has shifted over a ten-pound range for most of my life, but when i eat more, i weigh more, and when i eat less, i weigh less.
tammyb313 3 months ago
@tammyb313 I know what metabolism means. I'm fat, not stupid. Okay shitwad, what I'm saying I eat less than what these skinny girls say they eat. The girls at my school say they eat a hell of a lot of food everyday and don't gain weight. I'm going by what they're saying not stalking them and monitoring what they eat. I'm just meant to be fat and I'm okay with that. Guys still like me. I still can make friends(even though I'm not good at making them, but that's a personality flaw, I guess.) Imfat
ToxxicVennom 3 months ago
@ToxxicVennom geez, calm down. i'm not suggesting you stalk your friends, i'm just saying that they probably eat less than they claim they do.
and i'm not suggesting you change either. do what makes you happy.

It's not funny - it's a problem.

NewberYou2ber 10 months ago 2
you need to stop giving obese people an excuse to continue an unhealthy lifestyle. i lost 70lbs over 3 years ago and it all comes down to what you eat. if you want to be fat then be fat, no one cares but don't pretend like it's not a health risk. smokers don't have enough will power to quit smoking either but i don't see some wheezy old man on here telling people it's ok.
ralphy4u102 10 months ago
If you are obese, you are more likely to develop type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol and triglycerides, coronary artery disease (CAD), stroke, and sleep apnea, among other conditions.
ralphy4u102 10 months ago
@ralphy4u102 , so say one of the groups that profit alot from dumping these cliches on the masses. You can be healthy at any size.
Sereena111 9 months ago
@ralphy4u102 Yet there are no diseases that make you fat, and ALL diseases make you skinny. In that logic viewing a skinny person SHOULD make you think sick, not the other way around. ALSO, fat people have a higher survival rate for heart attacks vs skinny people.
whatsoupify 8 months ago
@whatsoupify They also have a higher likelihood of heart attacks.A 20% chance of surviving a heart attack once is MUCH better than an 80% chance of surviving a heart attack 10 times. Also,if there are no diseases that make you fat, then you have no excuse for being fat (whereas according to you anorexic people DO have an excuse). Also, nobody wants you to be anorexic, people just want you to be within a weight that you don't cost the U.S. $147 billion every year in medical costs. end bionerd rant
charwinger21 6 months ago
@ralphy4u102 you need to stop being an egotistical know it all. =] just because someone is over weight does NOT mean she automatically has heath problems. (oh no im 20 pounds over weight im going to get all these diseases and i could die, its all bullshit) doctors only talk about the bad cases of obesity, and not the fact that there are more healthy over weight people than non healthy.

MonaRocks09 11 months ago
@MonaRocks09 As a matter of fact, often you can't. Most overweight people fail to control their intake, not because they are lazy or prefer to be miserable and whiny, but because they have been trying to limit food for so long that their brain is reading the constant mental restriction as lack of food. The survival instinct kicks in-and voila-you are eating the 3 packs of twinkies even though you really don't want to. And you probably don't even like twinkies at all!

@HebaHosni I've traveled and seen fat prejudice in many other countries too. I've also heard people from other countries refer to people in the U.S. derisively as "fat Americans".
ChildofRain 1 year ago

Try to fulfill your potential, OR try to change the worlds biology and sexual selection.
br8d1 1 year ago
@br8d1 have to agree. For example serving sizes for an average meal is pretty small but people don't realise thats all they need. Most people I know can't imagine eatting only a cup (8 oz) of cereal for breakfast with skim milk and a banana. they think if the bowl isn't full its not enough then say they eat the same. But people make lots of unhealthy choices in their lives in one form or another weather its drinking or the community they choose to live in or what have you.
yerslaw 1 year ago
@yerslaw People's actual caloric needs vary wildly. The amount of food that a small sedentary person needs is almost certainly a FRACTION of what, say, a heavyweight powerlifter needs.
ezakustam 1 year ago
@br8d1 Well I don't know if you can tell, but she's tall. Even if I weight less than 200lbs, I have to wear much larger clothing 'cause my bodyshape is the opposite than hers and yes, I'm not that tall. Scale weight doesn't matter that much.

@lostinthemission The only thing I'd ask is how long do you want to count calories?
bellemcc 10 months ago

Its not like you are actually tring to help anyone, you are just reading a bunch of fake stats of the net.

Lose weight fatties.

@Dacke
fat people are a drain? really? you are highly intelligent aren't you? Nah, probably not. do you really want to know the drain? its the drug adicts, alcoholics, smokers and (hate to say it) the mentally retarded.
werheroszz123 1 year ago
@werheroszz123 Yes fat people are a drain on the healthcare system. "The annual healthcare cost of obesity in the US has doubled in less than a decade and may be as high as 147 billion dollars a year says new government-sponsored research.
You are highly intelligent are you. The "drug addicts(this includes alcoholics & smokers) aren't as much of a drain.
Dacke 1 year ago
@Dacke I wonder if you realize that we don't pay for anyone else's healthcare? Thats only if we have universal healthcare. I am a mayor of a town and graduated with a Phd in polisci and I'm quite sure I know these things. Anyway, why do you care? All you are doing is insulting, and not getting out there and REALLY trying to change things. If you cared, you'd help the obese become healthy.
werheroszz123 1 year ago
@werheroszz123 people with mental issues are not draining anything you dumb ass, there a minority especially compared to the third of adults that are obese or overweight, also saying that the mentally unstable are a strain is like saying people with cancer are a strain, it is a medical illness. Although Obesity is when humans are OVERFED, how sad is it that obese people can overeat and the many cardio vascular related diseases deriving from obesity, are preventable.
BlackyChan911 1 year ago

Makes so much sense, right?
garciajennifer223 1 year ago 43
@garciajennifer223 OMG I totally agree. I work in a job labeled: physically strenuous, I go to the gym, I eat nothing but salad and lean healthy crap, constantly count calories, I'm always hungry, and it pisses me off that the skinny ppl with desk jobs can consume 5k calories a day in twinkies and pudding and cheetos etc, live a sedentary lifestyle, and never gain a pound. WTF? If it was as simple as my trainer makes it out to be I'd be a stick too.
jetmechgurl 1 year ago 2
@jetmechgurl So you also personally know space alien vampires that work desk jobs, and have intimate details of their diets and exercise routines? Crazy. Watch out for that trainer, though. He may tell you that proper diet and exercise are important for physical health, but he's probably just one of them. Seriously though...
sniperhun65 1 year ago
@garciajennifer223 There are a lot of people who're thin in the world because their bodies are starving. If you consume about the same amount of energy you use, your weight stays the same. If you don't consume enough energy, you will lose weight. If you take in too much energy, you'll gain weight. It's not magic. You're underestimating how much you eat each day...or your coworkers are space alien vampires. Either way, you gotta figure that out.
sniperhun65 1 year ago
@garciajennifer223 actually yes .. just because you see them eat one meal of the day doesnt mean they go home and stuff their face .. and if someone does eat a shit ton and sit around all day .. eventually it will add up .. its basic math .. if you burn more calories then you take in, you will lose weight .. idk why it is such a difficult concept to understand .......
andretheking86 1 year ago
