Actually, no. Melee rogues are the most overpowered classes in the whole game, if you're looking for a easy time in Dragon age, and don't like mages, a rogue with heavy armor and a dagger and a sword is your main ticket to instant-kills.
By "most obvious" I meant what seems to me to be most common-sensical and immediately noticeable to the average first time player (having only played through the game once, that's the only perspective which is relevant to me). I for one wouldn't have dreamt of using pathetic weaklings like Leliana for close quarters combat during my first playthrough, but I did eventually find her extremely useful as a sniper.
As for most overpowered class, that award surely still goes to the Mage...
i love under the belt attack too....even if its a male fighter using it
