Drugs are at all venues and part of all genres of music, not just at electronic festivals. Unfortunately electronic festivals get the bad reputation, because 1 - It's mostly little kids who don't know how to handle themselves getting hurt, and 2 - When the media reports about these kind of events they throw around the word "rave" incessantly. The media has given rave such a negative connotation and now people outside of the scene correlate the word rave with drugs.

I am not some random person who hates raves, I am a person who went from 16 until a few years ago. I have seen more then my fare share of people overdosing and dying. Parties not being allowed to happen, paramedics, etc. etc. Maybe when you grow up and get over this fantasy that raves are all happy la la land, you will realize, they are just a microcosm of the world.

I haven't been to many, but the ones I went to I saw a lot of teen-agers with pacifiers in their mouths, all fucked up on Ketamine (which they had NO idea what it is/does) and were just laying around passed out. To me, THATs sad. You go to a rave to dance, have a good time and enjoy life, not get all fucked up and not be able to function. I was bummed to see 20 kids all passed out, I mean, what's the point?

Drugs are at all venues and part of all genres of music, not just at electronic festivals. Unfortunately electronic festivals get the bad reputation, because 1 - It's mostly little kids who don't know how to handle themselves getting hurt, and 2 - When the media reports about these kind of events they throw around the word "rave" incessantly. The media has given rave such a negative connotation and now people outside of the scene correlate the word rave with drugs.

She was even qouted several times talking about how excited her daugter was to be going to her first rave. The parents even dropped her and a friend off at the event, AND the parents knew it was a 16+ event since they bought the tickets for her, but let her go anyway.
It's the mother's fault, she should be blamed, NOT insomniac.
