Canon EF 15mm F2.8 Fisheye Lens Review

i'm a skateboarder and i'm looking for a good camera and fisheye lens for skateboarding. what i have in mind is purchasing this lens and the Canon EOS 500D, so i was wondering if this lens would work with that camera, any feedback would be great.

where can i get fish eye lenses? and are all fish eye lenses the same? like do they work for any professional camera? i have an eos rebel xt, so how do i know which lense will fit it? i'm trying to get a fish eye lense, and wondering where i can get one? anyone know? thanks!!!

@smalltimeroller yous it will but it will be cropped -you only have the full benefit with a fullframe sensor like on the 5dmk2. yours will come out cropped 1.6 - and it´s a huge difference. looks way better on a fullframe

I think they're mostly just to protect the lens as it sticks out quite a way.

maybe a dumb question, but what are the black things jutting out of the edge of the lens, what do they do?

@TouqhTV It is a lens hood, it is supposed to prevent any glare from the sun or other lighting to cause glare in your pictures. I think it goes the same for the fish eye, but I'm positive that's what it does on regular lens.
