Sinestro being a Green Lantern is not YOUR scenario. That's how it was in the comics too. Sinestro was the considered best, and the Guardians wanted him to show the new Lantern the ropes.

It wasn't necessarily because of the political correctness factor. John Stewart was always the most active with the Justice league out of the Earth GLs. He's the dude who holds down the fort on earth while the others do their space-cop duties.

no disrespect here but i was looking thru my JLA comics and I d

saw a lot more Hal than John in them. I know John got a big push after the Cosmic Odyssey mini series and the Mosaic series. I think that there may have been some other reason to use him. I am just as bothered they didn't use Hawkman. If you really look at it, it seems like they were trying to keep every demographic happy and tuning in.

That is a lie. John Stewart was never a member of the Justice League before the cartoon, he was on the League Once! For a guest appearance that's it.

It wasn't until AFTER the cartoon that they put John regularly in the League

In the Directors own words "Well, I just didn't want it to be a bunch of white guys going around saving the universe" So yes it was for PC reasons, this is FACT! They needed a Black character, which is fine. But don't lie about it being because John was "the most active"

And I need to amend my earlier post about going through my JLA comics and seeing more Hal than John, what I meant to write was I saw more Hal and Kyle Rayner than John....seems like John has a handful of appearances at best when Hal and Kyle have a whole lot more face time with the team...even Guy Gardner has more time with the team. than John.

I just hope they get this release right I love the Lanterns and the whole epic feel of the story of the corp.

Green Lantern was always one of my faves and I grew up with Hal Jordan. When I think GL my thoughts go straight to Hal. With that said I think John Stuart would be a better choice for animation though. Hal had his time and although he was my first love I've moved on. But to support the upcoming movie I guess it makes more sense to go this route. It looks bad-ass and I can't wait to see it!

Hmmm, I can honestly say I've sever seen a colored "ppl" before. No "ppl" at all for that matter. You'd be better off complaining about something that exists. Considering there is ONE MAIN HUMAN in the movie, I dont think thats relevant either (and are you forgetting about Justice League and JLU? John Stewart was in like, EVERY episode)

Another ALL WHITE DC comics story, No ppl of color in the whole movie. Boring, wont see it. They make all those alien races , NOT ONE OF THEM BROWN OR BLACK, just one, white hal Jordon. They have more green and blue ppl than they do brown. Am I the only one who noticed that?

you are the only one that is complaining about it, you can't see the fact that there are multiple races int his story, white, blue green, purple. it is aout a unity of multiple races. Your anger towards there not being anyone you can relate is a racists in itself. John Steawart is doing fine as a super hero, so is moon knight, Blade, The original super soilder. but you want us to make the stories more black and white instead of interesting and parrellel without being obvious and Black and white

If you read the end I said the use of multiple aleien RACES is where the diversity in the project comes in. like X-men di discriminated for their powers being parrreleld to racism so is the use of a diverse intergalactic police force.. Thanx bigbrown, for listing all the B LIST underpowered, background heroes that Ricky is so proud of. Whats with all the 'angry" comments. I just stated a fact that is very evident and that they have more fictional purple and green races , than actual brown or black races in comics, ( not just dc, tho dc is the best example.) These comic mirror a eurocentric point of view only and one from the fifties , I might add, not a modern realty based mirror.

In explanation: fasted man-caucasian, so is the strongest man, smartes man, strongest woman, guardian of the galaxies, most powerful, and so on and on and on. Thats why this movie is based in the 50s age, when racism was at its highest and ppl of color were not allowed to even allowed to attend public school. Why would a white guy from the fifties , support a interracial police force when hes never stood with any other races on his homeplanet other than white ppl. This character makes no sense
