I was there from 1970-1974. The band was much larger, louder and more ragged than today's, but that's how things were then. They were the Marching Chiefs, but that's not politically correct now.
I'm glad to know that "The Horse" is still part of the show. Keeping tradition is a good thing.

Wow, no offense, but it definitely had to be "back in the day". UW-L hasn't been called WSUL in quite a while. When did you teach?
