Oops. Again, no disrespect intended, but you have the part at the 14th fret a little off. You are pulling off 17-15-14 on the E string. He actually pulls off 17-15 and the hits the G string on the 14th fret (A). Then he keeps alternating between the descending line on the top with the A on the 14th fret of the G string. At the end, he plays D-C# and then hits the E on the 14th fret of the D string and this moves up to the F# that is part of that D (F#-A-D) chord he is playing.

I have just started playing the electric guitar my knowledge about valve amps is limited. I have 20watt roland cube not a valve in sight , I also use a zoom g1 fx stomp box , I have just bought a vox tonelab st , this has a valve amp fitted to it , this bag of trix is a different animal compared with the zoom gi fx , All i need now is a real valve amp , something like a night train , This guys tone is great , His videos are clear and precise . @kindsamar The sound is the valve overdrive of a Marshall amp, a high output humbucker pickup (like the Les Paul) helps push the valves more too. You can get pretty good everdrive effects pedals these days too, but nothing beats real valves! Cheers

it's similar to palm muting, this technique becomes second nature of you play enuf guitar, minimal effort required, be sure to avoid harmonic points, etcetera (5th,7th, 9th, and 12th frets, namely)
