  • Nice man.

But you do realize that a detective and private investigator are two different things, right?

If you didn't, now you do.

BTW: The difference (if you don't already know, as I said) is that a detective is a cop, he's paid by the state and is... well a cop. Just a higher cop. A private investigator is just someone hired by someone else to look into something and is paid by the employer.

  • haha.

wow, i feel really retarded now. haha. ok, ill be sure to remember that. thank you for the positive feedback!

hope you enjoy the other videos.

  • No problem, bro. Glad I could enlighten you a little.

And I'll definitely check out the other vids. I saw a couple last night and I liked what I saw.

  • I have a suggestion, don't talk during the initial shoot, just mime the words (or talk quietly). Then, in post production, redub the voices using the best quality mike you can afford, close to your mouths to enhance the sound quality.

Lower the original soundtrack a little, making the background noise create an atmosphere without sounding cheap and overwhelming, and you will have a real classy looking peice of work for very little expense.

With that aside, well done, this is very good. :)

  • sounds good. i'll try that next time for sure. thanks for the tips =]

  • This is one of the better film noir productions I've seen on youtube (I'm researching them because I'm making one in my film class). The only things I could really say are that the gamma is a little too low for black and white...it makes it a bit hard to see what exactly is going on, and the sound is really ambient. I don't know if you had a boom operator or not, but it would be an easy remedy for future films. Other than those two things, it looks good, was framed well. Good Job!

  • thank you. and yeah, i know, the pcture quality is horrible. my camera isnt anywhere near professional and i only used the on board mic. unfortunatly the production was scraped and i couldnt finish my film. if noir is a genre that truly interests you, you should go out and buy the movie "Out of the Past". its a textbook noir and the audio commentary on the DVD give a lot of information about this genre.
