The full song of Pick'n Cotton Blues on the album is a bit longer, because there is a line that goes something like. "I got to pick faster because the master is coming."
its a pretty deep movie. the old guy at the bus stop (that doesnt run anymore) is the "only person she can ever count on." because hes always waiting for a bus that never comes. then, she sees a bus pick him up. proving that she cant count on anyone, and that she IS alone in this world. hence, "Ghost World" as the title.
I've just doen a paper on the movie, I've analyzed the character Norman to be the only thing keeping her from getting on with her life, instead of being stuck in the "Ghost World" she feels she's caught in.
i suppose the comic book would be the ultimate source but i never read it. to me the ending - when she gets on that bus alone -is metaphorical; she is isolated and all alone.
Oh, and is it just me, or did anyone else think that Thora Birch was way hotter than Scarlett Johansson in this movie? Not that Johansson wasn't hot too, don't get me wrong.
Don't expect me to try to enjoy both Charles Mansons' people say I'm not good and the Masterfull brilliance of Ghoat World at the same time. I can't do it, it doesnt work. Either you have the Manson music with no dialougue soundtrack , or you have the diologue soundtrack with out the added music.
Yes, I agree! They are both insanely brilliant, or brilliantly insane, and yet I found myself really struggling to concentrate on both of them together. It's a bit like trying to listen to Helter Skelter and Piggies at the same time. Sure, they both inspire you to instruct your followers to commit mass murders, but...can you focus on both at the same time? I think not.
Damn, I thought Clapton and Led Zeppelin were authentic down in the delta bluesmen, but Blues Hammer proved me wrong. God, they rock - I need to find their greatest hits album!
Blues Hammer sucks it! The best band of all time--better than Manson, The Beatles, The Beach Boys, even Susan Atkins and The Banshees--is that Indian band that does "Jaan Pehachaan Ho" at the beginning of Ghost World. Do you doubt me???

Don't you ever talk smack about Blues Hammer; other than the girl group who played the graduation, they're the greatest band of all time
