@patsaxon If only everyone was so lucky for that to be an option. Unfortunately, not all people are so blessed to have a loving family or friend's who will help them. Sometimes they do, but life and relationships are complicated, sometimes bridges of been burned. Whatever the reason, people do fall through the cracks and without a support network to help them they fall into extreme poverty and very often will never have a way to claw their way back out.
I have seen some reports on the "Dignity Villages" some are well run, compliant with the city (They really try to work through any issue with them) and then there's those who just flop and drop. Anywhere they want and then begins the trashing of the area.
It's the second types who have made "Dignity Villages" a thing to fear and dislike. Sadly, the good ones rarely make news as they don't cause problems!
Oh no! People living within their means! Someone call the cops and the health department!
