I don't understand why everyone is complaining about it being one hour, I mean wouldn't you want a start to finish process for a tutorial rather than a 3 minute video that condenses everything, possibly leaving out important segments. At least this way you can't get lost and you can follow along at your own pace. Thank you for the tutorial, it saved me for flash!

@kk6downing Yes, you can just import it in as an image and place that in one single background layer. It might prove easier but you are limited on any interactivity with the environment

I have a question, I have a logo that is in jpeg format. It is a character that is a black and white outline, is there a way to break this picture down into several parts and make them separate layers that can be boned? Something like the magic wand but for flash? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks also for all the great tutorials, I have almost watched them all!

This is an amazing tutorial, I didn't realize it was an hour long, my attention span doesn't usually allow me to watch videos that long, but it was so informative and useful I didn't even notice. @Geniusisdead..You should be able to kinda fix that by clicking on your pencil tool, going to the bottom of that toolbar and click on the the squiggly line (pencil mode) and going to smooth as opposed to straigthen

the pain bucket tool isnt letting me adjust the gradient for going top to bottom it will only go from left to right. When I try to hold down the mouse and move up nothing happens.

@tom5coat You don't use the paint bucket tool to adjust the gradient, you use the gradient transform tool which is under the transform tool (click on the little arrow to see it). It's the third tool from the top in CS3. Just play with the circle and arrow to see how they work (once you've found the tool).
