The deleted clips understandably had to be deleted (shame on Fox!) but this video loses so much without them! Boo, hoo. Oh well, still love hearing this interview with an extremely talented actor.
how comes the black adder & other clips of him actin from the uk was ok to show but none of the house clips thats is just odd!!!! what a world !!! :( thanks for the up :)
I can't really understand why people are complaining, moaning about why you would possibly cut out the clips...
You've kindly provided us with this - which I unfortunately would never get a chance to see if it weren't for these kind people that actually have the effort to cut out the copyright-haunted material and then upload it for viewer's pleasure (or whatever other reason there might be).
"I'm not trying to make you happy... Put that in your pipe and smoke it."
I always feel like I'm bordering on odd because of that I in fact, think Lipton a great interviewer and quite a likeable man. The general impression most people get of him is that he's smug and uptight, making a show that may seem pretentious, but I think it's a nice change from all the flashy interviews around... I don't mind an hour of just plain nerdy in-depth stuff about such a marvellous man as Hugh Laurie.
Thankyou for posting this. I wanted to say that I have never seen House, but after seeing this great interview I weould probably have started watching it, buying the DVDs etc........ if I had seen the clips of the show. But as NBC has moved them, I won't. So. NBC I dont know what your intention was but you have lost a potential fan.
A weird jump but I recently heard Tina Fey from 30 Rock mention that House is "produced" if that's the correct term by NBC Studios and shown on Fox. She was answering a question about interference/censorship from the "network" and was making the point that she'd had had so little interference from "above" that she wasn't even sure if it would come from NBC the "network" or "NBC Studios". But I agree with ljhoeniges. I also think it's "legal people" justifying their own existence.
in essence, nbc made the pilot, but didn't pick up the show. fox wanted to show it, so in order to do so, they pay a fee to nbc, who still does the production of the show. fox will continue to air house as long as they continue to pay nbc.
@riebit i hope you realize that nbc made an empty threat to you about the "copyright infringement." bravo had to get permission to air those clips on their show. the only permission you need is from bravo. it's called 3rd party copyright. it's bravo's responsibility to make sure nbc's copyrights aren't being infringed upon--NOT yours.
@bugglemuggle I hope you realize NBC Universal owns Bravo and thus showing clips to a show on FOX isn't about copyright infringement, it's about NBC not paying FOX the rights to air clips from their shows on the internet where revenue is generated from ads alongside videos.
@riebit What's weird is that NBC/Universal owns Bravo so they'll let you post the entire episode of Behind the Actor's Studio but not a few minutes of House M.D.?
"Did that suck?"
-"Of course." lol xD

Is it just me or has NBC entirely missed the point? You: "Hey, I want to show a clip that demonstrates just how good this NBC show is!"
NBC: "No! No! Hide the goodness! No one must know how good our show is!"

I love when James Lipton finally is forceful and says that the show is awesome and how great Hugh Laurie is because Laurie wouldn't admit it himself.

Amazing how NBC Universal have no idea how to promote their own product.
Hugh Lawrie seems such an eloquant, straightforward talented man.
Another great interview from an excellent series.
