From what I have read, Yogi has always been a bit shy and nervous with strangers. It's just his nature. But if he never forgot anyone he ever played with or met due to baseball. You were his friend for life. Yogi even forgave George Steinbrenner!
i met Yogi Berra yesterday at a book signing. i got his autograph, shook his hand, got a picture with him AND had a short conversation with him regarding Jackie Robinson! it was great. i was SO impressed! this video made me think it was going to suck but it ruled! go Yogi!!!!!!!!!!!!
Met Dale Berra in Tucson (1988) when I worked at a hotel part-time as a grad student. Dale +family was staying with summer team /practicing for season. Showed us his world series ring ( I held a world series ring in my hand !). Working at a Hotel and going to school is a great way to meet lots of folks you'll never forget. Amazing memories along the way. Life is a journey. My son's second cousin plays for the Texas Rangers. Talented guy!
